Found this on my duvet right where my cat has been sleeping..it's seemed to be attached to a hair or two, not really oval in shape, more oblong. Quite long legs at the back but couldn't count how many! Any advice?

Looks like a beetle to me

Definitely not a bedbug

The good news is that it has karked it, whatever it is!

You've got a fully mature flea there op, which means you have an infestation.

Can't see any other signs of infestation or fleas, and surely treating the cats monthly would prevent this? I've seen fleas on cats before and this doesn't look quite like one, it isn't as flat or small.

You have to make sure you use a different active ingredient each time, otherwise the fleas that survive and breed are the ones who are immune to whatever treatment you are using.

That's simply not true. It takes a couple of years before fleas get immune. Sticking with the one product is recommended by vets. Also, it looks nothing even remotely like a flea anyway.

@roseopose I know this thread is so old, but if you're still around what did this turn out to be? I found something really similar on my daughter's bed today and have freaked myself out that it's bedbugs!!
