If you have one what advice would you give to someone thinking of getting one?
I am thinking size ( would mainly be for 2/3 people, drawers, make/ model.
The choice is overwhelming and I don’t want to buy one and then think - I wish I had gone one with x,y and z because ….
thank you🙂

Get the biggest size pan you can. Less than 6ltr is too small IMO.

I have two air fryers and they're both used almost daily. I have the tefal with a stirrer just for doing chips mainly and a large Tower 7ltr pan style for everything else.

Personally I wouldn't bother with a Ninja style dual fryer as the two pans are too small in my opinion. I often cook a large 2.2kg chicken in mine plus veg and I wouldn't be able to fit that in a Ninja dual pan.

I only use the oven for cooking large pizzas, batch cooking and if we have visitors staying.

We bought a 5.5l Cosori and used it so much we now have 2 of them - hardly turn the oven on these days

In hindsight, I wish I’d bought a two drawer Airfryer. I’m currently eyeing up a Ninja, although Lakeland have a couple that are a bit more affordable. My advice is go bigger if you can.

Ah- so you think one larger drawer is more practical?

Dh bought the ninja foodi max 15 in 1, frankly it's pretty shit for 6 people. I would've preferred a drawer one I think. And they are so bloody big. It does reheat last night's pizza awesome though...

MyDogSmellsTerrible · 15/10/2023 16:15

Love my ninja single round drawer.

I would have maybe liked a bigger one but two drawers wouldn't have worked for me. I put chicken crowns etc in mine which I'd struggle to fit in a smaller drawer.

If I need to cook two things, I just cook the first lot, keep it warm on a plate with foil, then cook the next batch and chuck it all in together for the last couple of minutes.

I very very rarely use my oven now, it's saved me a fortune.

I've got the Tefal 9 in 1 with rotisserie and a selection of shelves, cooks everything evenly and quickly. My DP has a Ninja with the big drawers, I don't rate it, we cooked chips for 3 of us and they took ages and didn't cook evenly, had to keep shaking them. Other things seem to take an age to cook to too and his was probably 3 times the price of mine

One with shelves seems like a good alternative to drawers. Do you use the time you would use for an oven?

Get the best and biggest you can afford. We have a 2 drawer ninja and love it.

PuppyMonkey · 15/10/2023 16:25

QVC have got an offer on a Ninja Air Fryer this weekend - 9 litre one for £179 which is about £90 cheaper than normal and you can pay it off in 6 instalments and send it back if you don’t like it up to 90 days later.

Yes, I bought one. GrinBlush

Darklane · 15/10/2023 16:33

I’ve got the Aldi one, no space in our tiny kitchen for one of the huge 2 drawer ones. I find it brilliant, perfectly big enough for just the two of us. Use it most days. Can count on one hand the number of times I’ve used the oven since it came & that was only to do a big batch cook for the freezer or several cakes at once.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/10/2023 16:34

We have the ninja 15-in-1. The air fryer function probably gets used 3 or 4 times a week for small things (shorter cooking time and no need to pre-heat like the oven) and we use the pressure cooker function all the time. The steam roast function is also used a lot to do a roast plus veg or potatoes at the same time and next week I'll do the Christmas cake in it, it'll take a much shorter time than it takes in the oven. No regrets on the purchase.

Lakeland one with a big drawer and a smaller drawer , so perfect for chicken 1 side potatoes and vegetables the other.

jay55 · 15/10/2023 16:39

My flat is boiling, (26.5 today with no heating on) and so I love my air fryer as using the oven in summer is unbearable.
I have the ninja 2 drawer 7l and it's fine but I might have preferred a cheaper one with a single wider section.

tennaeine · 15/10/2023 17:33

We got a 2 drawer medium sort of sized one and have no regrets at all. I've never thought I wish it was bigger/smaller, or a different shape.

It's completely changed our lives, particularly when cooking for toddler, as they like lots of rubbish oven food which took tons of preheating and we now skip all that.

It's easy to clean, easy to use, food tastes great etc.

I bought the slightly smaller Ninja two drawer air fryer. I love it, but I wish I had bought the large version.

daisybrown37 · 15/10/2023 17:45

I got one of the tower ones with shelves and love it. We have 2 kids with restricted diets, so we can easily cook their food and then do ours later. Used less electricity since we got it (not changed anything else)

OhhhhhhhhBiscuits · 15/10/2023 17:47

The ninja 2 drawer 400 or 451.

WildFlowerBees · 15/10/2023 17:49

We bought the ninja foodi max, we haven't used our oven since. I now want one with 2 drawers.

CornishGem1975 · 15/10/2023 17:49

I've got the large Ninja 2 drawer and love it. Sat on the fence about them for about a year and then took the plunge and have used it almost daily since we got it. I'm generally a slow cooker but for things like bacon, sausages, kids food (chicken dippers, chips...) it's great and cheese toasties are next level.

LadyWiddiothethird · 15/10/2023 17:53

I bought a Ninja with one drawer, big mistake,I now want a two drawer one.

Can you say why? Can you fit a chicken in the 2 drawer one?

Yes, you can fit a chicken in the two drawer one.
