I'm trying to book a holiday for Xmas 2024, treating ourselves over the whole Christmas period. I am currently pregnant baby due in feb, when booking it wants me to put in infants name and dob, I could probably put babies name but what am I meant to do about dob? What do people do in this situation?
Seems I can't book without providing this information 🤷‍♀️

Book and then add the baby on later once s/he is here? Not sure otherwise!

Chowtime · 15/10/2023 08:43

If it's a UK holiday i would just put the due date down. I wouldn't worry about them checking it.

We've traveled with our baby when young but we waited until he was born before we booked flights. Are you going abroad? You normally can't book flights until 11 months in advance.

wait until the baby is here before you book? How can you book without knowing anything about the baby or their state of health or your state of health so far in advance?

I booked a US trip last year when pregnant and just added the baby after she was born. It was a four month window and no problem to apply for a passport and add to booking in them at time.

crankit · 15/10/2023 08:55

Didn't think about adding baby after 😂
It's package with TUI and costing alot so needed to book it early to be able to afford it you see

"Even if your baby hasn't been born yet we advise you to book its ticket anyway, as the number of babies allowed on each flight is limited. If you do not know what your baby will be called yet, you can enter the letters 'XXX' in the 'First name' box when making the reservation. As soon as the baby is born, you need to communicate its first name on the number +32 2 717 86 61. For info on accessibility go to the "service & contact" section on our website."

Sorry, that is not their UK site - there may be the same info on there though, it seems likely.

crankit · 15/10/2023 09:58

Oh thank you ! I'm going to call them today

@crankit Yes, phone Tui, I did this before DD was born. Be warned though - my holiday was more expensive because I booked it over the phone with them rather than via the app/online!

crankit · 15/10/2023 15:05

All done, thank you. TUI advised booking babies ticket and calling them once baby is here and named etc. incase anyone else ever has the same question!
It was a whole £3 cheaper calling up ! But only had to pay £180 deposit instead of the £300 stated online so that was a bonus of calling
