What're your favourites? I've very much enjoyed the Indira Vharma ones but not that enthused about Tony Robinson narrating.

A lot of them I haven't read since I was a teenager so I'll have forgotten most of the plots, but it's amazing how particular lines come back to you as you listen...but then I always did identify with Granny Weatherwax 😁

I haven't heard any of the new ones, but Carpe Jugulum is one of my favourites, along with any of the Sam Vimes books

The Tony Robinson narration is the old versions isn't it? I remember listening to those on car journeys as a kid! I quite like Colin Morgan doing the wizard books even though those are not generally my favourite. I have been restricting which ones I buy as I already have most of the paperbacks so have mainly been listening to the ones I wouldn't normally read. That does mean I haven't tried the Jon Culshaw narrations yet even though the guards are my favourite sub series

Ahh thanks both! Yes I think the Tony Robinson ones are quite old now. The Indira Varma ones were brilliant - so well done - I might try a Colin Morgan one for a change from the witches. I think there's a older full cast (presumably abridged) version of some of the books.somewhere too.

Is there anywhere you can buy them or download them without having to set up a subscription. I tried to buy some on cd for a long car trip a few weeks ago. I was a bit rushed but I struggled as everything took me to audible. I've been reading the Tiffany books to my son but would be great to listen to some of the books whilst cooking in the kitchen or generally doing other jobs. Thanks

If you go via Penguin you can choose audio download and then shop options to get one off purchase options instead of audible, for example: https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/328779/guards-guards-by-terry-pratchett/9781473588165 they don't seem to have been released on CD

Thank you Terrywynne. Really helpful. I will peruse leisurely.

If you have a library membership you might be able to use the Libby or Overdrive app to “borrow” audio books (think for three weeks) . Selection can be limited but you might find a few on there

Thank you - I actually saw this on another thread and have done loaded both apps, but there are hardly any audiobooks available to borrow as they're all on loan (the new Richard Osman one isn't available to reserve until 2029 😂) - I naively thought this wouldn't be a problem given they're just digital files, but presumably it's a publishers' thing?

I love the old ones read by Stephen Briggs and Nigel Planer, but not so keen on the new ones. The Witches and the Watch are my favourite series.
