Greetings Cards

Birthdays, anniversaries, new baby, new home, condolences - do you still buy them?

With the festive season almost upon us, are you going to send Christmas cards?

We now only buy cards for the older generation and very young DCs.
Actually we do the same for gifts too.

We only buy cards for DD, DS, DH, DM, DSF, MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL, DNx2, BF and BF's DD. Oh, and if one of the DC's friends have a party, they get a card too.

It looks like a lot written down! But I only buy cards in either Card Factory or Cards Direct, so fairly cheap. Sometimes I get the DC to make a card instead.

I do birthday, Christmas and anniversarys. Most cards I give by hand, SIL and her family live further away so we usually post those but sometimes give them to PIL to take if they're going to visit.

Yes, I still use greeting cards for a variety of occasions.

flufferknutter · 13/10/2023 11:32

Very rarely buy them.

VeridicalVagabond · 13/10/2023 11:35

Only for the older generation who still appreciate them tbh, and thank you cards. Most of my peers don't really do cards anymore, but my mam still loves getting them for literally anything.

We always do cards, particularly for geographically distant friends and family. Ideally homemade. I still think it’s special to get post that isn’t a bank statement or a Dominos pizza flyer.

Stephisaur · 13/10/2023 13:19

Birthdays if I'm seeing the person, usually. Condolences always (as long as I am seeing the person/have their address). Don't usually do Anniversaries.

Christmas Cards always. The rare occasion that I go and post anything 😂

I can’t decide about Christmas cards mainly because the postal service is so expensive and so unreliable atm!

Birthdays are only really done if seeing the person face to face. Or perhaps a special birthday.

Rarely send Christmas cards either. Will probably give them to neighbours this year, but we've recently moved and it's a good way to get to know names!

Birthdays, Christmas, new home, condolences, engagements, marriages, cheer-ups, anniversaries (each other), mothers' day. Yes.
