Wise Mumsnetteres - help is needed! Our staff have company cars (lease vehicles), and currently log their mileage on the Mile IQ app. Business miles are then submitted with cash expenses and repaid at the HMRC rates. For electric vehicles this is 10p per mile, which is leaving staff out of pocket if they do all their charging on the road (i.e. they don’t have a home charger) as the cost of fast chargers on the road far exceeds 10 p a mile. Does anyone have a solution to this? Are there HMRC implications if charges work the other way round - i.e. staff use a company fuel or credit card to charge their vehicles? Would this have an impact on how their tax is calculated?
