2year old and gifts

So I know I'll probably get shot at but my nephew turns 2 at the beginning of January and I'm totally stuck as to what to buy him for both Christmas and Birthday. My sister doesn't know either, they have an older child so the house is already full of toys (she's having a pre Christmas clear out)

I'm happy to spend big, I just need ideas! What do your 2 year old boys like?! We've all only had daughters so far so we're stuck. Thanks.

If he has lots of stuff already how about tickets for something, the zoo or aquarium or something along with a small toy?

^^ This.

My son was two at Christmas last year and was more excited about unwrapping things than he was about what was inside of the wrapping 😂

Though to answer your question he got: a play kitchen, some books, some clothes, a magnetic drawing thing (bit like a Mega Sketcher but travel size), PlayDough and some play food for the kitchen.

Maybe vouchers for shoes or for the cinema or some type of family outing like a panto trip over Christmas . You can then buy him something like a book or a very small toy to give him on his birthday as I know small children don't appreciate vouchers. Alternatively is there anything for the outdoors that they need like a sand and water table? It could be put away until the spring. Ive just cleared three black bags of toys from our playroom and have another one full to pass on so I feel your sisters pain

Does he go to nursery? If he does your sister could ask what toys he plays with there and you could buy what he doesn't have at home already. Is there a mini version of anything the older sibling has that he likes eg my DD1 has a Barbie house which DD2 trashes so we're getting DD2 the Fisher Price Little People Barbie house for Christmas

Happyland or similar are a hit with my 2 yo

What about a treat day out? If they already have plenty of stuff and are trying to clear it out, I wouldn't get more stuff. She was a bit older, probably 4-5 years maybe, but one of my friends got dd and I tickets to go see a local symphony orchestra do a family performance - it was like songs from popular kids films (think, Frozen) and talk about the instruments and lots of engagement from the musicians in fun interaction with the kids. It was a wonderful present. Amongst the pile of tat that she generally got for birthdays, it is one I still remember now years later. It doesn't have to be that 'big' a gift, but just something to do rather than something to play with and get bored.

Thank you 😊 I'd like to get him one 'big' thing to play with then maybe something like An annual pass somewhere fun is a good idea. I'll have a look at happyland or maybe a little ride on toy for outside?my sister is happy with whatever but ideally not little things like puzzles or duplo etc as they have loads of them.
