Why are fish and chip shops in England so tightfisted?

No free sauce? Always giving you these crappy little sachets of ketchup? Not even having decent brown sauce.

Cheapskates. Free the sauce

It's as bad as McDonald's where you ask for sauce when you order, and they forget it. So you ask if they put the sauce in when they hand you the order. It's a nope.

So they throw a sauce in. Even if you've ordered a box of 9 nuggets and fries. You're only getting one sauce. If you ask for more they act like it's coming out of their own wages!!

Sauce? What kind of sauce?

I work in a deli counter and the amount of people lifting handfuls of salt/ sauce sachets is shocking! They even take the empty cardboard coffee cups from the coffee machine! And half these people aren't even buying anything!

What @YoongiMarryMe said. In Scotland it's behind the counter, they put it on for you. No mess, nothing thrown. Apparently you can pinpoint the exact street between the east and west where you go from salt and sauce land to salt and vinegar land.

Sauce? What kind of sauce?

Ketchup, maybe?

It's rumoured some people like it with their chips. 🙄

Salt & vinegar and/or gravy or (if I'm back 'ome) curry sauce thank you! Never tomato and rarely "mayonnaise".
