First it would actually be useful to have extended hours, and increased buses on the current routes! Also reinstating Sunday service would also be appreciated!
I currently get 1 bus an hour past mine, between 9.40-5.40 mon-Sat. and none on bank holiday.
being disabled, on a really good day i live close enough to walk into town, otherwise normally I rely on my bus pass.
it’s frustrating that i can currently get a more regular bus (x2 an hour) to the next small town, than around the housing estate i live on in my town!

The railway station.

DramaAlpaca · 08/10/2023 00:30

I'd just like to have a bus route local to me... I live in a rural area.

Findyourneutralspace · 08/10/2023 00:32

Im on a great bus route. It goes from the end of my street direct to the station, my work or the city centre and runs every 10-15 mins.

I wish it took me to the gym though.

Iop · 08/10/2023 00:37

The local hospital (where I work)

Finallybreathe · 08/10/2023 00:44

Wish it had higher frequency and took me to Birmingham (I’m only 11 miles away)

WhateverMate · 08/10/2023 00:47

I'm so lucky I can get to virtually anywhere I need to via my local bus route, but I live in a London borough.

When my DS moved to a small seaside town he was rudely awakened to reality 😂

I'd just like to have a bus route local to me... I live in a rural area.

We had a 2 hourly service when we moved here, now there are none.

I live rurally too. We have pavement the length of the village, but it doesn't continue to the nearest place where there's a bus (2 miles away), and it's an A road, lethal to walk.

onwardandupwards · 08/10/2023 00:54

The local farm and soft play.

BananaSlug · 08/10/2023 01:06

Central London, I actually live in London but we have no direct buses into central in my part 😑

The outlying suburban train station which has a railway route going out into the countryside.

At the moment, the only way to take this train out into the countryside is either to get a taxi to the station in question. Otherwise, I would have to go all the way into town and then catch a different bus to the suburban station.

Public transport is not at all linked up here.

Dontcallmescarface · 08/10/2023 03:07

Anywhere...we don't have a bus route anymore.

Ruffallo · 08/10/2023 03:22

The vet, it is even on a bus route but it's about 1 bus per hour and stops about 5pm so not very practical. A taxi makes it an even more expensive trip when already paying minimum £50 for consult.

There's a few places which are on bus routes but involve long journey going into city to change buses to come back out back out again rather than cut across like you would in a car.

Flatandhappy · 08/10/2023 03:52

The gym.

Pepperama · 08/10/2023 03:53

Local bus doesn’t run evenings and Sundays - wish I could use it when out with colleagues for dinner or to get into town for shopping at the weekend

treacledan71 · 08/10/2023 04:12

To the city where I work. Used to be 2 buses a day there and back but they took it off at lock down and never put it back on. Have to travel 3 miles to get a bus to the city. Either a lift, another bus or a taxi. 2.00 bus thing is fantastic though.

TheHumanSatsuma · 08/10/2023 04:34

Into town after 2:30 would be nice

Deathraystare · 08/10/2023 08:01

iI am really spoilt where I live in West London and we have the tube as well. Plus National Express stops near me. Most places are a bus ride away For this reason I do not want to move! I am near to 4 hospitals, my dentist, Westfields shopping mall etc etc. I could never live in the back of beyond. Most of my friends I could get to by bus as well.

00100001 · 08/10/2023 08:02

Work. Only bus that goes past is. 20 minutes walk away that drops off at 9:42 am...

BelindaBears · 08/10/2023 08:02

One specific soft play that DD loves that’s awkward to get to by public transport so we end up getting taxis there sometimes. I’m well served by buses and local trains though as I can’t really think of anywhere else.

fishfingersandtoes · 08/10/2023 08:04

I'm in London so a really good public transport system. I'd like a few more lateral routes through my borough, particularly to wildlife areas. There are places that are a 20 min Uber away in traffic that take 1hr plus on busses/tubes/walking.

Bernadinetta · 08/10/2023 08:22

I live in Tyne and Wear and we have the metro system. It’s great. Never use buses.

PuttingDownRoots · 08/10/2023 08:26

DDs sports club. It would be great to think in a couple of years she could get to training independently sometimes. It would take over an hour by bus.

Janinejones · 08/10/2023 08:32

We have some good routes around Oxford, but not reliable, late, so would miss trains. Or missing completely. [I am not on the road that is closed until next year]

Shinyandnew1 · 08/10/2023 08:42

Our bus routes are excellent-my problem is they are constantly delayed or cancelled so just can’t be relied on to get anywhere.
