Is it a waste of money buying new bras before TTC?

TTC as of this month, it’s coincided with needing new bras. We go on holiday soon and I need a couple. Impossible to buy cheap nice ones as my cup size is FF, so can’t just go to Asda and buy a few - meaning I’m looking on the next website and it’s looking like £25 a bra.

I wanted to get 3 but would that be stupid to? Conceived immediately previously but ended in loss. Basically this means if we conceive fast again, I could potentially have a different bra size in a matter of months and so not much use out of them? 🙈

Did your bra size change lots in pregnancy?

I’d buy 1 new one if you’ve still got one or two that are just about ok. Or 2 if all your current bras really have bit the dust.
You could buy a couple of wireless ones that have some stretch - that way if you do get pregnant they’ll fit for a bit longer.

Plenty of good FF bras in M&S for £16-£18.
Also, soft ones in packs of two for £30.

Also your glasses prescription will probably change! Mine did during pregnancy and after. Didn't expect that.

Yes! I wasn't allowed to do an eye test while pregnant

Recently went for an eye test and they said my vision was perfect - never been a glasses wearer! Very lucky for that

Massively, but I lost my pg weight within 8 weeks each time and once I stopped bf my old bras were fine. If we went out for an evening they were fine once bf was established.

My feet on the other hand remained half a size bigger after baby 1.

Ditto on the feet. Wider too - was gutting finally accepting defeat and getting rid of all my shoes!!

Lossoffaith · 07/10/2023 17:48

Band size changed permanently for me.

BeverlyBrook · 07/10/2023 18:22

Oh yeah my ribcage went a whole size bigger and has never gone back to what it was.
Boobs absolutely unaffected by breastfeeding for 3 years incidentally

Primark all the way. They do FF (wireless ones too, if you want them for comfort when pregnant!)

Don’t buy new bras, shoes or gloves. Everything changed shape.
