If you were famous would you be cancelled?

I was just thinking that with the cancel culture as it is I would hate to be famous and have my past dragged up all the time.

I'd be cancelled for my gender critical views and have my past thrown at me as I have a criminal record for assault. The assault was about 20 years ago but still someone would no doubt use it against me and say how evil I am. It got me thinking about how I DO sometimes judge famous people for things they've done in the past but I'd hate for people to constantly judge me for my own past so maybe I need to be a bit more compassionate. I don't know why I judge famous people or public figures harshly sometimes for things I wouldn't judge people in real life for 🤔

If you were famous would you be cancelled and if so, why?

@Berlinlover That's up there with people being cancelled by the neighbours for not going out and clapping every Thursday during the pandemic!

What does FII mean? I don’t think I’ve come across the term before. Needless to say that sounds absolutely awful. Why does it need to stay on DCs notes and referrals if no concerns were found??

on the notes to be fair it details it all - allegation and conclusion of the investigation that no concerns found. But if for example we have to go to an and e or be referred to a specialist it just says Ss involvement or SS CP investigation! Then I get treated like rubbish, consistently nurses or drs will be ok till they see that then they change and I get spoken to horribly.

in the local community I’m not spoken to much as it got spread about by so called friends and gossiped about , it’s the fact nobody allows their dc to have play dates with mine that hurts.

Being cancelled is the modern equivalent of burning witches, I speak as someone presently being cancelled for whistleblowing. I have a fairly colourful, no longer private life, which is being used quite blatantly to slander and libel me.

It's a dark and depressing place, this so called era of "being kind" and standing up to bullying.

I'm so sorry you're going through that, I hope things get better for you soon.

I guess we've always had ways of cancelling people in one way or another. My great grandmother fell pregnant out of wedlock, she never told anyone who the father was though I doubt he'd have been treated as she was, she was banished from the Chapel she went to and shunned by the whole little village she lived in.

Depressingly I'd probably not be cancelled. I'd probably have regular rent a gob slots on GB News and a weekly column in the DailyFail.

I think that's worse than being cancelled!!!

@RedToothBrush certain viewpoints always mean you're a right wing bigotted nazi, the problem is I'm never sure which viewpoints they are until I've opened my mouth. I could find myself co presenting with @FindingMeno on GB News😆
