Is anyone else just sick of being a bit overweight?

I'll preface this by saying I thought about posting in weight loss chat, but I'm actually not after weight loss advice..

Is anyone just sick of being a "bit overweight?"

I'll define that by saying I'm 1.5 stones overweight but not in the obese category. I have a nice face, albeit a double chin, ample chest, small waist and long and shapely legs from the calves downwards.. however I have a belly, wobbly thighs and my upper arms are built like a wrestlers.

I love food. I stick to a diet for a few days or a week then usually ruin it by having a takeaway.

I do lack will power and also find it time making time to exercise as a busy working single parent.

I think its just knowing if I lost that 1.5 stones I'd be in a healthy weight category, but I just can't seem to engage my brain by doing it..

Does anyone else feel fed up of it all when you're a bit overweight?

This is me. Just tipping into overweight BMI and I've never been here before. Unfortunately I can't run due to knee pain and quite enjoy sitting on the sofa eating cake so have faced chub rub this summer for the first time ever. Can happily go until 11/12 noon before eating but then I find it difficult to stop especially if I'm working next to the fridge.

OP I could have written your post, I am in the higher end of my BMI so am overweight. I have 1 and half stone to lose but can't seem to give up takeaways and chocolate and cake.
I got desperate and have started using Wegovy. It's been a game changer and all the food noise has gone. I've lost 5 pounds so far and only started a week ago. I've tried everything else, this is the only thing that works for me.

Reflecting on this further I think one of my problems is that in my head I haven’t gained weight ! 😆 I was thin when I turned 40 (over 5 yrs ago) and so the steady solidifying over the pandemic didn’t really occur to me. I get a shock at photos & when I can’t fit in clothes I easily fitted in a couple of years ago, but find it hard to actually now think of myself as chubby as in my mind I am svelte. So I need to learn to more realistically visualise myself. Age wise peri-menopause probably isn’t helping.

This is me too! For the past few days I've started restricting when I can snack (my main issue). First it was till lunchtime and now I'm trying to move it to 4pm. In a few days I'll try moving it till later.

Not sure if it's going to work but I need to try a more staggered approach as with FT job, a 2 year old and no help from anyone apart from my husband, I'm too tired to go cold Turkey. 🤦🏻‍♀️

🙌 yep. I could happily lose a stone. I eat well, I exercise every day, I run and do classes, I try to look after myself. But I cannot shift that stone and as I’m getting older it’s getting harder. Same as you, I dislike my tummy area and my arms. I have deduced that it is impossible to lose that weight if I am drinking alcohol. A few glasses of wine seems to just stall my weight loss, no matter how well I eat. But I like wine…..

I’m at the stage now where I get my seasonal clothes down and nothing fits. I had to buy a whole new summer wardrobe, and it’s looking like I’m going to need quite a lot of autumn/winter stuff. I’ve gone back to slimming world 🤦‍♀️

It’s also annoying that it takes a while for the weight to creep in but when you want to shift it you want it gone fast and of course there are no instant fixes!

Cutting out SUGAR is the key to everything else.

Instead of sugar, eat protein.

And LOTS of vegetables.

Plus small amounts of complex carbs, a little dairy, and healthy fats.

Once you have weaned yourself off sugar, everything else is so much easier.

Yes to the sugar thing. That is very true. Hunger changes to being manageable when you cut out sugar
