Bladder problems ..is my partner causing it

I've had multiple issues with my bladder .needing to go during the night multiple times and smelly urine and this has gone on for YEARS i thought maybe child birth caused some damage. After a cyscopy It was showed I had inflammation of the neck of the bladder .. (I had a week where I took antibiotics for somthing else and my symptoms disappeared but came back ).

I'm due to have a Urodynamics This week .

but here's the thing......
I haven't been intimate with my partner for a month now and my symptoms have subsided !!.Also urine tests show no infection

it got me thinking is he causing me the problems??

Ive been faithful and last time I had a sti test was 11 years ago during pregnancy...(the results were negative)

Any suggestions?

I think you found out the cause.

Have you tried having sex with a condom? I know when I was younger I got cystitis almost every time with One of my partners - I ditched him .....

He may have an undiagnosed condition or sti. An ex had a skin condition (not bacterial) and it made me flare up. Condoms helped and he was eventually treated by a skin specialist. Poor bloke was mortified.

It might be sexual activity which makes it flare up. I've got chronic overactive bladder, which has symptoms much the same as yours, and intimacy always makes it flare. We find it helps if we both have a shower before, and I also have one afterwards. I also take low-dose antibiotics all the time. Good luck !

We haven't used one since the birth of our children over 11 years ago.. perhaps I should...

I would get tested again to rule it out and then use condoms too see if that helps

I can’t recall what the condition was in the end @Chocolate2020 but I know they tried treating it as Balanitis and then as genital psoriasis first but steroids and vitamin d cream etc did nothing. On him it was just a really light discolouration on his penis. Hardly noticeable. I never thought it was balanitis - I just think he had a lazy gp that gave it a quick glance and ‘presumed’ - even though the location and marks didn’t match the general presentation of balanitis.

the specialist gave him some cream and said we had to leave off ‘romantic relations’ as we were both triggering each other whilst he was recovering. 🤷‍♀️

I had this issue with condoms, in fact I wondered if it might make it more likely to happen?
