So just served churros to my kids 6 and 2 and they found them disgusting 😂

Alphabites. One of my favourite foods when I was small, they turn their noses up at them!

Both mine didn’t like any form of potato until they were over 10 (yup even fries/chips). 16 year old just started to eat roast potatoes recently. Neither of them will touch mashed potato. I am Irish. 😂

This is my child. Who doesn't like roast potatoes?! He will eat fries from a shop, but that's it. I'm hopeful he will eventually start eating them because... well... roast potatoes?!?!

Candyfloss. We didn't have many sweets etc when they were small. The candyfloss was supposed to be a big treat at the seaside. They both hated it and a couple of decades later still talk about the holiday "when you tried to force feed us candyfloss".

You monster 🤣. I wasn’t allowed candyfloss.

Dairylea triangles. So I had to eat them all... shame.

Dairylea triangles are vile.

Nutella wasn't well received here.

@FormerlyPathologicallyHappy as a kid I hated csbdyfloss - too sweet and when you bit into it it went a weird dark colour where your saliva came into contact with it.
Every time I saw the dark pink bits it looked like a sour covered pink cloud and made me gag 😂😂😂

Yes I was a weird child.

Spit not sour

My 10yo dislikes chips, ketchup and jam (separately, not mixed together). In fact all forms of potato except mash.

My 14 year old also hates potato. She will eat one or 2 roasties but not even that excited about them! So odd having a teen that doesn't really eat chips!

UndercoverCop · 30/09/2023 14:24

DS doesn't like chips or roast potatoes. I don't know if we're related

YawningInTheMorning · 30/09/2023 14:25

Mine hate babybel. Never had issue with any other cheese.

Getawaytoblazes · 30/09/2023 14:28

Dd: chicken nuggets, fish fingers, oven chips / waffles / anything like that, toast, cake, pesto, eggs, strawberries, bananas

Ds: cheese, pesto, baked beans, lasagna, cottage pie

The cheese is the most shocking to me, followed by cake

Burgundylover · 30/09/2023 14:59

One of mine never drank fizzy drinks though he does as an adult. He did not like crisps either, and neither do I - I really don't get why people like them.

minipie · 30/09/2023 15:07

One of my DCs doesn’t like any fruit except apples and grapes. So all the seasonal fruits that people offer up as a bit of a treat - strawberries raspberries peaches etc - no thanks.

GreenhouseGarden · 30/09/2023 15:51

Coco pops and hotdog sausages.

GreenhouseGarden · 30/09/2023 15:52

Oh and grapes and blueberries. Wtf is wrong with grapes and blueberries??

Soubriquet · 30/09/2023 15:53

Avocado. I keep seeing people give their kids avocado and they seem to go mad for it. Mine didn’t like it at all.

Also gravy…they have their roast dinners gravyless

cardibach · 30/09/2023 15:54

cocksstrideintheevening · 30/09/2023 10:55

Was there cinnamon on the churros?

Mine actively dislike any kind of fizzy drink apart from sparkling water.

Also peas, I thought all kids would at least eat peas.

I’m pretty good with veg after being a bit of a dodger in my youth, but peas are vile! The texture is horrible and they don’t taste good at all. Peas and broad beans would be the veg o would least think kids would like.

arintingly · 30/09/2023 15:59

Hummus, falafel and pesto (separately not together)

CantThinkOfANewUsernameAgain · 30/09/2023 16:07

Hot dogs

PurpleSproutingSomething · 30/09/2023 16:13

He won't eat Sausages, cake with icing, no butter on bread, no milk on cereal, doesn't like 'wet' food, no fizzy drinks.

Odd child.

TodayForTomorrow · 30/09/2023 16:15

My kids don't like thos easy freezer staples like fish fingers, turkey dinosaurs etc. which is what I was raised on.

I asked my 6yo son if he wanted anything from the shop the other day, expecting him to ask for some sweets, and he asked for watermelon.

It has made me realise how much ultra processed stuff I put in front of them because I think they will want it, but actually it's my own conditioning that makes me reach for that shit.

Crikeyalmighty · 30/09/2023 16:25

My now 25 year old wouldn't touch bolognese, eggs of any kind or peanut butter

maddiemookins16mum · 30/09/2023 16:43

Jaffa Cakes. I mean wtf!!! I almost disowned her.

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 30/09/2023 16:45

It’s never too late.
