What are the nicest things someone has said to you, that have really stayed with you? A warm and fuzzy Friday night thread ☺️
These are mine:

Nice things about my DC, someone once told me "they are so polite, you can tell they've had a lot of time spent on them ❤️"

A pupil (ASD, ADHD) I teach, told me he wanted to be back in my class because I was "a joyful teacher".

What are yours?

Thank you so much everyone for sharing these - so lovely to hear.

And to those of you saying they couldn't think of any, I hope that very soon somebody let's you know how wonderful you are ❤️

That I'm a good mum (my little one is still little but it was nice to hear, nonetheless)

I had a really crappy week at work and my boss just.. knew. So they left a card and some chocolate on my desk and the card said:

Thank you for being so positive and professional, we really want you here and we're glad to have you on the team. Have a wonderful weekend.

It's on my fridge and it makes me feel better about the work I'm doing.

Kindness really doesn't cost a lot and it's so impactful. My boss probably has no idea how nice that message really was.

I’m a lecturer and in my first year in the job I barely knew if I was coming or going. I had a great class I spent most of my time with, and when they graduated I got some lovely cards and presents, which was so nice. About five years down the line I got an email from one of the guys (mature student in his early 30s, so closer to my age) who was in that class, saying he had just returned to uni to do a masters, and had been struck by the difference between his current lectures and mine - that mine were better! He asked if he could buy me lunch some time, and we now meet up a few times a year for coffee which is really lovely. (He’s married with kids, I live with my DP, it’s just a genuine nice catch-up.)

On a more shallow note, as a student I worked on a Saturday in a clothes shop. One day an elderly woman came in and said she had been passing the window and seen me tidying, and wanted to say how pretty I looked. I’ve never forgotten how good it made me feel!

Also shallow, but I frequently get stopped and complimented on my hair/asked who cuts it. It’s my (amazing) hairdresser’s compliment really, but it always makes my day.

@justanothermummma thats lovely. I wish more people would express their gratitude like that. My boss rarely gives positives to any of us. It would make such a difference. It’s a school and luckily the children and parents make up for it with lovely cards at the end of year.

@43ontherocksporfavor Honestly, it really took me back. It did so much for my confidence.

I'm forever telling my DDs to 'remember their kindness, because it costs nothing'.

I'm sorry you don't get the appreciation you deserve, but I guess being in a school you have the opportunity to then educate pupils in how to be better grown ups. Lots of love x

A lady once stopped me in the swimming pool changing rooms to tell me she had heard me talking to my children and thought i am a really good mum. Nearly bought me to tears

Thanks @justanothermummma , honestly the chn are what make it for me , it’s certainly not the money!
We actually have a compliment box for the pupils and encourage them to leave compliments for each other that we then share in assembly. It’s lovely seeing the faces of the chn on the receiving end.

A man once told me I looked like a princess in a tower. Once overheard a man say to my husband 'What's it like to have such a beautiful wife, you lucky git' 😀😀😀

A colleague at work told another colleague that I was "the nicest person you'll ever meet" and it touches me whenever I think about that 😭surely said in passing but does mean a lot when I can feel myself putting on a brave face every day just so others never feel unwelcome in my company
