Thanks to MN, I’ve gone and …

… what?

What can you blame MN for recently?
Have you bought anything totally unnecessary, something which never would’ve never been on your radar until you saw it here?
Have you read a book due to someone mentioning it on MN?
Maybe even named your child a name which had never crossed your mind before? 😁

Thanks to MN, I have gone and … booked a holiday to Seville!
It has always been on the cards, but reading all about the current love for the city gave me the impetus to go ahead with it.
So actually I can also blame MN for being skint now 😆

Zoflora - game changer for cleaning smells!
Solovair boots. Not bought any yet but I won't be replacing my DMs with DMs when they die...

Devilsmommy · 27/09/2023 16:14

Making godawful dairy free pancakes that would probably have given my 1 yr old a severe pancake aversion if I'd have fed them to him🤣 I constantly said I was a menace with frying pan but all the lovely posters didn't believe it 😜

Tidypidy · 27/09/2023 16:15

Asked my DH if he's thought about Romans recently! Zoe Ball was going on and on about it this morning too.

CharliesAngles · 27/09/2023 16:20

Aaah this has been a great read.
A couple of really life changing ones @duvetday9 @PinkMoscatoLover @Alphabet1spaghetti2 @Tadpolle and @Pixiedust1234 .
I hope you’re all in a better place now.
Well done @jazzhands84 , that’s an amazing role to have taken on. I bet you’ve made a hell of a difference to a lot of women’s lives already.

Thank you @Maddy70 and @Wallywobbles , I’m really looking forward to it 🙂

Taken more time for myself. Kids in nursery, mummy in the bath for hours with ubereats and a book. I didn't realise how important it was to my kids that I can be present and rested.

Also bought a squirty mop that doesn't do shit! So although I'm rested, I still scrub my floors with a bucket and cloth

Met a man who has rocked my world! (See username)

Thanks MN!

Thanks MN!

I am so intrigued as to how MN played a part in that!

Are we going to have our very first Mumsnet Wedding OP?
I wonder if there have ever been any MN weddings 😁

I've just added a Lantana can opener to my shopping basket 😁

Eyesopenwideawake · 27/09/2023 17:52

Found my birth father and a massive extended family in the USA 😁

EtiennePalmiere · 27/09/2023 17:59

Air fryer, (fake) oodie, identifying narcissists, Toast brand, John Lewis Advent calendar, rubber broom, GC views...it's also put me off relationships with men a bit but oh well

LaundryWoes · 27/09/2023 18:02

Bought tubing mascara (only a cheap one - Snapscara but it’s brilliant, doesn’t smudge like every other mascara I’ve tried and comes in a black cherry colour that doesn’t look as harsh on me as black).

Had discussions with DH about mental load and sharing after I finished maternity leave - we’re not perfectly 50/50 but I feel a lot happier about how we’re dividing things.

Tismmum · 27/09/2023 18:03

Gone no contact with a family member

YesItsMeIDontCare · 27/09/2023 18:04

... got a bra that fits me properly and got my cat 🥰

Summerhillsquare · 27/09/2023 18:21

Lovely thread 😁

Soooo many style and beauty tips and products, probably the best of which is Estée Lauder doublewear foundation. Been 16 hours today and still going strong, looks like natural but fresh skin.

WitcheryDivine · 27/09/2023 18:26

Got a mooncup (15 years and 3 mooncups ago - still swear by them)
Resolved never to marry a lazy bastard

So I guess indirectly I can also thank MN for actually marrying a non-lazy non-bastard?

OnAFrolicOfMyOwn · 27/09/2023 18:28

Started buying M&S ketchup instead of Sainsburys.

F0XOFTHECASTLE · 27/09/2023 18:29

Well I made a load of friends on mumsnet and joined a WhatsApp group with them. Unfortunately it didn't last because a couple of the women turned out to be quite horrible and decided to start removing people from the group.

DistantConstellation · 27/09/2023 18:34

Egg boiler/ poacher
Those green Korean exfoliating "towels" after someone said they "couldn't stop feeling their arse"!

Littleredcorvettepurplerain · 27/09/2023 18:36

Left the bastard. 😀

EmmaPaella · 27/09/2023 18:40

I bought a pot for keeping half an avocado fresh!

MonumentalLentil · 27/09/2023 18:42

Bought a spin dryer because people were saying how much more water they removed than the spin on the washing machine. All I can say is that they must have really shit washing machines if they don't spin properly because I got more water out with the washing machine spin than the stupid spin dryer.

SomePosters · 27/09/2023 18:47

I LTB.

I take so much less shit from CF

Much happier.

Cappuccinfortwo · 27/09/2023 18:49

Thanks to MN I have...

  • bought and read lots of books
  • planned a brilliant break in Rome and London with MN suggestions
  • been assured that I am not going mad when work became rather woke

went to a private miscarriage doctor who treats for Natural Killer Cells after recurrent miscarriage and… eventually… had my two DC!

Also
-bought sandals.
-“No is a complete sentence.”
-search topics when I’m not sure what to think, e.g., feminism topics, and always hone/explore my opinions based on the amazingly bright women on here.
