Tips for how to dress

I'd love to be one of those women who look good all the time, whether in workout, going out or work clothes. You know, just stylish and cool.

Unfortunately I'm not that person. I buy clothes I think I like then change my mind. I'm not good at putting outfits together, don't have much "vision". I've recently spent a couple of hundreds of pounds on clothes and still feel like I don't have anything to wear! I'm alright with basics (shirt and black trousers, jeans and a t-shirt etc) but that's it.

I'd really appreciate your best tips and advice. I'm at a stage where I'd rather spend more on good quality stuff rather than polyester rubbish.

Thanks!

Look at whole outfits and then buy some similar basic for variation.

For example I like this outfit a lot https://shop.mango.com/gb/women/jackets-and-suit-jackets-jackets-and-suit-jackets/oversized-bomber-jacket_57065988.html?c=05 so may buy the 3 pieces plus some wide leg cords in dark green and a thin knit top in sage or pale pink.

Buy everything in similar tones so you can mix and match, black, navy, khaki, beige, white. Then you effectively have a capsule wardrobe and can spend more on less.

have simple but classic jewellery and accessories, I’ve just got the most beautiful bag from Paris64, it was £300 but the quality and detail exceeds any designer bag I’ve had before from Mulberry, Chloe etc.

a good pair of boots and loafers.

look up old money aesthetic on Pinterest and follow Natalie Bourton on Instagram.
