I laughed when I saw that. How do you plead not guilty. Is he going to claim he was there all the time?!

Because he wants his day in court presumably, no matter how ridiculous his plea is.

DH and I were talking about it earlier. Not sure if DK is deluded or stupid.

Presume he wants to waste tax payers money and draw attention to himself. All those days in court will be a nice change of scene for him from his prison cell, and he'll get to wear his best clothes instead of his prison drip. What's not to like?

Could he be a Freemen of the Land type? Planning to argue that he was never legally imprisoned in the first place?

Perhaps he will claim he was innocently refereeing a celebrity vs inmates football match when he interrupted another escape attempt and was forced to get underneath the coach by a notorious northern bank robber, disguised as Gordon Kaye.

Because life is easier as a prisoner on remand than convicted. So pleaded innocent to retain on remand status.

No, he's not. He was on remand when he escaped.

I presume he wants the media attention of a trial. When found guilty I assume the Solicitor will be able to give a statement on his behalf to the media. He can probably get whatever he wants to the media then.

I suspect that a court case is a welcome entertainment for him. He’s going to have far fewer privileges in prison after this, so day trips to court are a bonus.
