Virtual Assistant - where do you look for roles such as this? do people advertise for them anywhere? Any advice would be great.

I employ virtual assistants. Checkout this website vact.co.uk which has lots of free advice.
I think if you have the right skills and are comfortable marketing yourself it can be a great way to have your own business.

I use one called Another Mother, they’re great and seem to employ quite a lot of people (usually mums working around school hours)

Thank you, I have a marketing background. I just wasnt sure if there was a demand. Can I ask what the going rate is or what I should at least be aiming for?

Depending on experience from £30 an hour usually.
There's a difference between types of VAs. Those with executive level experience can charge a much higher price than those with general admin experience.
Specialising in particular software or tech can be helpful too.

Sounds right up my street. Not sure where to find work or where people search for a VA

How do you link up to a clients emauls and telephone system

You find work like this via LinkedIn, local networking groups, working with other VAs as an Associate etc
There's loads of info on the website I posted above.

Using technology such as call redirects, help desk software or just managing an inbox by logging in.

I have 3 businesses. One is VA based.

I’ve been self employed as a VA since 2004. I now specialise in tech systems/implementation for established service based online businesses - but still pick up general admin work for certain clients.

I charge £45 per hour for tech stuff. I also have some services that have a set rather than hourly fee.

I currently network (basically chat and help) in 4 groups that brings work or referrals in.

if I was starting from scratch I’d just make an announcement on my fb page saying I have a few hours available for x type of tasks for x type of people.

don’t just tell folks an hourly rate. Or that you do admin. Paint a picture of tasks you could do and free up their time etc.

you could use a fresh gmail account as it comes with the full GSuite.

graphics and some social scheduling I do on Canva.

I can do most my work on my iPad, laptop even better.

Don’t need a logo or website etc.

invoicing - get a free Mettle business bank account - you get accounts software - FreeAgent for free if you use a mettle account. You can also send invoices/payment requests through Monzo business etc. Free Agent sends Ann invoice and I can easily add a PayPal etc link to the email and invoice.

contract - I just use a basic online one I have added to over the years. Will try and find where I got it. Covers late payment fees, client ghosting and all sorts.

payments - take ‘something’ if not full payment up front.

payment terms for my clients are payment on receipt of invoice or within 7 days. They get 3 reminders then late fee added.

happy to chat or zoom whatever for brain picking.
