Cutting short a self catering holiday

Currently staying in a very small self catering cottage . Wall to wall rain forecast all week. The lighting isn’t bright enough to read easily. The bed makes my already dodgy back worse. I just want to give up and go home but the thought of wasting all the money it cost stops me. What would you do? We aren’t that far from home. I just want to pack up and leave.

I’ve just slipped and fallen in mud on the way back to the car after a pub meal. The washing machine is incomprehensible and spent three hours doing something to my clothes but not washing them. I hung them out in the rain. So that’s another issue. Just me and OH. He’s enjoying himself .

Why be miserable? Leave.

Go home..its meant to be enjoyable..not "sticking it out"

I’d go home in your shoes. I’m sorry you’ve had a miserable time.

What a shame you're not enjoying your holiday.
If it's so uncomfortable for you, that you want to go home, then go.
Personally, I'd make the best if it- I enjoy a change. You did choose this destination for a holiday!
Maybe book yourself into a nice spa for a few hours then come back and get cosy. Order some food, get nice wine.
Try some local restaurants. Go to the theatre. Go to a church. Go for a swim. Watch quiz shows.
There must be something appealing you could enjoy!

DH and I once drove home in the middle of the night, from what was supposed to be a romantic weekend away. The temperature in the room was stifling, it was the middle of summer and the radiators were on. Hotel apparently couldn't do anything about it. We took turns lying on the chair by the window to get some air, no chance of "romance" because we were slowly boiling to death.

We'd spent a small fortune on the hotel, but the feeling of climbing into our own, cool, bed a few hours later was priceless. Go home, life is too short to stay somewhere miserable for the sake of it.

Wow. I'm usually a reasonable person but I would have literally lost the plot over this with the hotel staff!! Wasn't anyone else complaining? What a ridiculous situation!!

You pay for an extra day you won’t use? That’s bizarre. Most lets are for a week anyway.

I don't see it like that. I see it as paying for a day in the accommodation that I would otherwisw be forced to leave at 930am.
Also I never go for a week. Most often a weekend and if DC come along they are back at work on the Monday anyway.

If your husband is having a nice time, I'd be trying to make the most of it.

Can't you hand wash your clothes or Google the manual? Why did you hang up your clothes if you know it's forecast to rain? Seems a bit silly.

Cheer up and try to enjoy it.
