The worst film ever made according to its screenwriter. Given that it was made in 1979, I doubt it - there was a plethora of competition.

There are many examples of people who have some kind of a blind spot about someone, almost akin to an Emperor's New Clothes moment. Gareth Southgate thinks Harry Maguire is good enough to play men's football for England for example.

These threads are bullshit… the more people post about him the less likely it is that anything will ever reach court. He’s going to quite rightly argue that he wouldn’t get a fair trial.

I find a lot of posts on here really odd. For the last couple of days, everything had been about "why didn't people challenge him/do anything?"
But mention a woman who worked with him and who totally defended the appalling Andrew Sachs thing, and suddenly that's blaming a woman/women and so misogynist?

She was every bit as wrong to defend and excuse him for his bad behaviour as anyone else who worked with him. Her sex doesn't give her a free pass.

This is exactly what I mean. Any man who worked with him is fair game for criticism. But a woman is unfairly 'thrown under a bus'?

I know I may get piled on for ageism (I'm pretty advanced in years myself), but he clearly likes them young, so she just wouldn't have been in his demographic.

On that basis of course she'd say he was lovely or whatever, because she didn't see that side of him, because he didn't want to have sex with her.

It reminds me of Meryl Streep talking about Weinstein, and how she'd never had a problem with him - well, yeah love, you're about 40 years older than his targets...
