Working class

So if you were an honest working class family and were given two following questions.
Which one of them would offend the classification of you?

a) You'll be paid your exotic holidays.
b) You won't be invited to a garden party.

Both

Eh? Hmm

HauntingSecrets · 18/09/2023 19:43

Prove you’re not a bot and we may be able to answer the question.

misssunshine4040 · 18/09/2023 19:46

If this helps op .... there is nothing wrong with being either class.

People are where they are mostly due to luck and circumstances.
It's not a reflection of character or morals.

Forget about class

Kangarude · 18/09/2023 19:49

If it was a bot, surely it would make some sense? Confused

I'll bite...

Qualifications - brought up in a rough part of Glasgow to an Italian/Irish family so guess I'm working class?

Holidays - bring 'em on and none of that rainy Cornwall* shite. I want sun and plenty of it.

*disclaimer my partner grew up in Cornwall and we are now a dreaded second home owner down there and love the place.

Garden parties - get too much mud on the stilettos, always cold and slightly damp and whatever people say it is impossible to hold a glass of Prosecco and eat from a plate of minute crudities that drip down your cleavage and, even worse, on the pale pink silk dress, you've worn to attempt to be ladylike, even though the minute you open your gob with full on Rab C Nesbit coming out it's obvious you're not Home Counties.

Also I'm a rabid republican.

So yeah, holidays please 😁

SkinnyMalinkyLankyLegs · 18/09/2023 20:18

You need to communicate in clear English, OP.

daliesque · 18/09/2023 20:23

Ooh actually I forgot. I - working class hero of course - once got invited to a Buck House garden party as I was involved in a charity that some random royal was also involved in.

Turned it down.

Florabundance · 18/09/2023 21:38

Neither of those are questions, they're statements ?

jlpth · 18/09/2023 21:57

They aren't questions Confused

My question comes from the depth of my soul.

Imagine you like someone and they (totally unsuspecting) are told they're working class like it's something bad. Similarly, someone middle class are made feel it's something bad.

I genuinely am oversensitive. This is the key line.

None of your posts make any sense

jonesysy · 19/09/2023 03:25

I think OP may be ChatGTP's answer to write a typical MN OP

greyhairnomore · 19/09/2023 03:35

Wait , I'm working class, can I get paid to go on exotic holidays?

Benchpress · 19/09/2023 03:41

I think I get your question.

Firstly neither a or b are really indicative of class. Plenty of working class people travel to exotic destinations because they’re immigrants and that’s where their families are…also many working class people have parties in their gardens? An invitation to one isn’t indicative of class.

realistically I know we have a major classism culture in the uk, but I also think it’s hard to mask the class you’re from? So sometimes you need to just accept that and not cares if someone else thinks you’re working class or middle class? It doesn’t change anything

WandaWonder · 19/09/2023 04:24

Whatever you are having are you going to share it around?

Shreddedcorn · 19/09/2023 05:31

Plenty of working class people travel to exotic destinations because they have the money to do so. Being working class does not = poor. You can be filthy rich and still be working class, and by the same token, be middle (or even upper) class and not have a bean to your name.

I think the Daily Fail is using ChatGPT to generate their MN stories now 😂
