Please help me find a toddler carrier

I'm a solo parent with a non-walking toddler (I know that's a contradiction, but that's their age group) who weighs about 12kg. Toddler also doesn't grip with their legs when they are on my hip.
They could walk if they wanted to, but aren't ready yet and I think won't for a little while yet.
I'd love a simple carrier I would put on by myself that I could use if I just want to take my dog for a quick walk over the fields etc from my house when the ground is too rough for the pushchair. Supportive so if it was nap time they could sleep while we walked and I could be truly hands free.
Or if like yesterday we were in the car and I needed to drop a couple of small parcels at the post office and I couldn't be bothered to get the pushchair out (turns out that was a mistake!)

Tula do toddler carriers and so do Rose and Rebellion.

I used to really like using my Connecta to carry my kids. It's soft with buckles and I'm sure it comes in a toddler size.

It's worth finding out of you have a baby wearing consultant in your area then you can get help with what will work for you and you can usually hire a carrier to try before you buy.

Have you got a sling library near-by?
They will let you test out several until you find one that works for you both.
Or, mine local one wasn't very local - so they took info (child size, usage) and posted one out to us for our holiday for a small cost. Definitely worth co tacti g your closest.
Think ours was a connecta too.

I've never heard of a baby wearing consultant, thanks will Google.

Online shopping is great, but when you want something like this you really need to try it in the flesh and so many reviews online seem to be fake it's so hard to work out which might work for me.

I used an Ergo baby to carry dd on my back until she was three.

Or for the quick trips, like the post office, a Hippy chick hip seat might work?

I had a Beco Gemini and used it up to about 3.5 years. Have recommended it many times, it was great.
