I need more energy!

I can barely move after work. I feel like life is passing me by in a fog of basic chores and putting my feet up. I need to get on top of the house and have more energy for fun.

I'm getting some vitamin d and floradix and aiming to up my protein and veg. Going for a daily walk too.

Anyone managed to improve their energy levels?

When I’m feeling run down, I take Metatone and use Tisserland energy boost oil.

Over the last month or so I have tried to eliminate UPF as much as possible and the different it has made has been incredible. Thought I had maybe been imagining it slightly but I had a McDonald’s the other day and woke up the next day feeling hungover - so tired and drained and with a headache. That must have been my normal previously so it’s amazing to feel so energetic all the time now

Magnesium.
Vitamin b12

Hi @Krakken
Try Chlorella powder and Spirulina powder from Holland and Barrett.
I mix the two in some water, lots of vitamins and good energy boost x

Cut down on UPF, sugar and refined carbs, as well as alcohol. Instead eat plants (c. 50%), lean protein (25-30%), plus some complex carbs (lentils, quinoa etc) and healthy fats (EVOO, avocado, nuts).

Consider taking a daily multivitamin and Omega-3, as well as calcium and Vitamins C and D.

There is a great book called The Sugar Solution which I found tremendously helpful in making my diet healthy. And in the course of doing so my energy levels increased tremendously.

Somewhat perversely, I also found that regular exercise, especially weight training, actually increased my energy levels.

My main upf food is probably bread. I'll cut that out. It's so easy to rely on and such low effort, but it's probably not so good for me.

I'd like to do some weight training actually.

Looks like a trip to Holland and barret is in order.

Weight training with dumbbells? you want Caroline Girvan!

sunshinesupermum · 17/09/2023 11:28

What is UPF?

WhateverMate · 17/09/2023 11:29

Have you had any recent blood tests? I felt like you and some routine blood tests uncovered a very underactive thyroid.

Annaishere · 17/09/2023 11:32

I’m like this but I was much worse a few months ago and was taking not floradix but similar. I also started eating beyond meat burgers which have heme iron. I feel a huge difference day to day but I’m still too tired to walk to the shops and back, I have to get a taxi back. They’re about 2 miles away. My recent bloods came back normal so I don’t know maybe I’m just aging fast( I’m mid thirties). A couple years ago I was running everywhere.

mommatoone · 17/09/2023 11:35

Have you had your bloods checked OP? . I was like this and my B12 was really low. All sorted now and i feel like a different person!

Annaishere · 17/09/2023 11:36

Oh one thing I noticed though was when I ate mostly fruit for a few days/ week. I felt great

nether · 17/09/2023 11:37

Have you had covid? When was the last time (confirmed or not)?

Because this sort of fatigue is really, really common afterwards - onset can be slightly after the acute illness.

If long covid, then trying to exercise your way out of it is the wrong thing to do - you need rest, rest and more rest

mrsmamoa · 17/09/2023 11:45
