Isn’t her oldest, the 13 year old boy still in pakistan? Is she not entitled to have the boy back in the UK with her as she would be the legal guardian? Just wondering why he is still out there with his siblings

Let’s pray there’s a good outcome for the children, one where they are safe and happy and have contact with each other. Nothing worse than separating siblings

Sadly sometimes there are much worse outcomes than separating siblings. It isn't always in the best interests of all children to keep them together.
And these are children who will be suffering great trauma right now.

I understand exactly what you mean but I was thinking because their sister has been snatched away from them so tragically, a situation where they’re safe and still have access to each other in addition to the boy knowing his mum would be a lovely outcome

I think it would be cruel putting them in a situation where they had no contact with their siblings after losing one. Siblings tend to have survivors guilt after things like this happen and we know separating siblings is especially traumatic, not to mention the aftermath of their sister dying so young with their parents (step mum) arrested and charged, so in this situation I’m hoping they can see each other often, with olga having PR for her son. You know like children seeing each other multiple times a week, contact being facilitated over video call, in person visits at contact centres.

You don’t know anything about their home life and circumstances though. One child has died, not by accident, so how likely is it that they have a happy and well balanced childhood?

the kids may be trauma bonded, in which case separation might be the best option for them.

you’re speculating.

Children who have been brought up together being kept together in a safe home are always better off together. It’s why the UK care system try their best to keep siblings together.

This is not the case for all siblings. There are many many reasons why siblings are sometimes separated to give the individual child the potential of a best outcome for them.

I read somewhere that the father has sole custody due to mother taking drugs and leading an unstable life.
Cannot remember where I read it now though and how true it is.
I do not the ins and outs of course and she may well have tried. But if my partner/ ex husband got sole custody of my kids, I would have tried everything I could to get them back. Seems to me like she did not really try hard enough when Sara was alive and now that something has happened, is playing the blame game etc.
I mean I do not really as you cannot believe everything you read, but why was he granted sole custody?
If she was a flight risk, then so was he. So why did they not have joint custody etc?

Can I ask why you’re only focused on the eldest and not the other three kids in Pakistan? You clearly know he’s one of the four there, so why do you feel she should have this one child back?

Because he has a mother who is not in prison arrested for murder. The other 4 (poor things) do not have mother who can take care of them anymore.

The father is a man who was complicit in the murder of his child. It’s not hard to imagine that he was abusive to his wife and punished her by not letting her see the children

Just a reminder, although charged with murder, the judicial process needs to take its course before this can be stated with certainty.

Is it up to Pakistani authorities though? Depends on the citizenship status? I have no idea what this is but if they are not Pakistani citizens then you’d hope they would have to be returned to uk?

If the Pakistani courts ordered them to remain in Pakistan then the UK could ask that they were returned but they couldn’t force it.

LegendsBeyond · 16/09/2023 15:30

It looks like they’re staying in Pakistan. Authorities here were focussed on getting the 3 suspects back, they won’t be so fussed about the children. They have dual nationality so Pakistan can keep them there if they wish.

Boshi · 16/09/2023 17:13

I asked because Olga is the mother of the eldest, and if she had joint custody, I would have thought there would be an easy process to getting her son back. I didn’t realise she lived in Poland now.

The other children should also be examined for injuries, fractures etc, although I know that would be traumatic for them. It’s hard to believe Sara would have been the only one beaten so badly to have caused fractures when there was 4 other children also in the house. I wonder if that will happen in Pakistan.

If the children were brought up in the UK, I imagine they will want to be back here in familiar surroundings
