Girls period knickers.

Where have your daughters got theirs from? Looking at M&S but the sizing is for adults eg size 6,8, 10 etc rather than 11-12. Do you think a size 6 would fit an average 11-12 year old? Why are they selling kids stuff with adult sizes!?!

If girls have started puberty and having periods they wouldn't typically be in child sizes.

TattiePants · 15/09/2023 11:04

DD is 12 and wears M&S period pants in size 8. Apparently they’re very comfortable.

TheHorneSection · 15/09/2023 11:10

We bought size 8 for that age range and she seems happy with them.

Modibodi

SpikeWithoutASoul · 15/09/2023 11:24

Modibodi do a teen range. My DD is eleven and had some size 6 M&S that definitely fit her, but she prefers the security of boxer short style.

skgnome · 15/09/2023 11:25

We got DD both modibody (teen range)
and XXS from Primark

reluctantbrit · 15/09/2023 11:59

Modibodi teen.

Cheeesus · 15/09/2023 12:02

Modibody here too. They are so expensive though!

Period pants aren’t just for kids though.

Singleandproud · 15/09/2023 12:03

Teen sizes and smaller women's sizes overlap so just compare the size chart for where you normally get your daughters clothes from and the size chart of the period pants.

Mine is as skinny as a rake but quite tall. Adult waist and hip sizes are too big.

Tidypidy · 15/09/2023 12:05

Cheeky Wipes do kids sizes. Often have offers on bundles and kits too.

pintsizeprincess · 15/09/2023 12:07

Modibodi teen . However just discovered the ones from primark are good too and an awful lot cheaper. Got my 11 year old dd size 8 ones from there and she says they fit perfectly

My child was 9 when she started her periods. She was absolutely still wearing child-sized clothes. She's now 12 and still wearing aged 12-13 sized clothing.

Modi-bodi do a teen range. I think I started off with Youth 8-10, which I believe is age and not adult sizing.

bagsofbats · 15/09/2023 12:19

I bought some size 4 for my 13 year old from M&S last week so they are definitely thinking about smaller teens

Vinorosso74 · 15/09/2023 12:24

Wuka do child/teen sizes

Jellycatspyjamas · 15/09/2023 12:28

M&S size 6 for my 12 year old DD, fit her perfectly.

McConkeysPlate · 15/09/2023 12:32

Victorias Secret period pants are great. My daughter is 11 and I buy small.

Blabla81 · 15/09/2023 12:54

I’m bought Rovtop period knickers for my daughter from Amazon - the sizes are in ages. She really likes hers.

RainCloudsInTheSky · 15/09/2023 13:14

This makes no sense. My daughter is a small just turned age 11 and wears 10-11 usually. I have no idea what that equates to in women’s sizes and couldn’t see a size chart.

That was in response to this.

Thanks all. The M&S ones are £16 for 3 so I might give them a go first. Not used them before but I hope she’ll find them more comfortable than pads. I’ve heard the can be worn all day and then get changed at night? Is this the norm?

TattiePants · 15/09/2023 14:12

@RainCloudsInTheSky my DD tends to wear 3 pairs per day so roughly 8 hours each and has never had any problems. I think I bought 3 packs of 3 (once I'd made sure she liked them) as I didn't want to be washing every day.

Stompythedinosaur · 15/09/2023 14:20

We have the modibodi teen range. Both my dc have started with size 10-12.

DD last around 6-8 hours and changes when she is home from school and then again at bedtime.

But, she has quite heavy periods, right from the start, and the normal M&S ones are useless for her. She manages with heavy/overnight modibodis during a schoolday only at day 1-3.

It really depends how your DD's period is.

Cheeesus · 15/09/2023 19:53

My DD does a mix of pads and pants, which gives a bit more flexibility too. So she wears a pad and then can bin it and then the pants take over.
