Shoulder/neck pain - A&E or not

After a day of doing chest compressions (9 hour training day!)

I woke up at 2am in absolute agony. Pain from my neck/ down to my shoulder pain.

I tried moving around, got bath, pain killers. Pain was awful. I managed to drop off around 9am after taking stronger pain killers.

I can't move and the pain is awful. My right side of neck/ shoulder, horrible headache and my arm is tingly

(I'm a nurse and so shit at making this decision for myself!) 😩

I wouldn't, would presume it was related
After doing CPR (and getting a ROSC!) I woke up feeling battered t he next day and everything hurt

111 might be able to prescribe stronger painkillers. Can you try lying/half sitting with a hot water bottle behind your neck?

Edited from 101 as the police won't help you Grin

Hey, I'm a physio, sounds like muscle spasm, warm shower running over the area and gentle neck stretches in each direction. Try to keep it moving (gently) take paracetamol and Ibuprofen alternately, providing you can take Ibuprofen (not asthmatic, stomach issues or allergic). It will take a while to settle down. Once pain more controlled you could visit a physio for soft tissue massage which may help settle it down a bit quicker but wouldn't be appropriate until your pain is more controlled. Hope you feel better soon! If it gets any worse contact 111 for advice.

Thank you.

Think I was over reacting a little bit 🙈Grin

I've managed to get out of bed and into the shower. I've already taken naproxen today.

Thankfully I've got five days off work now! But blimey! The pain!

I would say GP, especially if yours has a surgery Physio. I teach CPR (as well as doing it) and it's my abs that suffer next day.
