Best jug blender

DS has asked for a jug blender for his birthday, mainly will be used for smoothies. He has a stick blender but finds it a faff when making smoothies for more than one person. He probably will continue to use that for soup.
Am looking for recommendations. Doesn't need to be £££ (we've already bought several other things) but want it to be decent quality.
So if you use a jug blender for making smoothies and are happy with yours, what make and model do you have?
Also if you have one you wouldn't buy again, please let me know why and again which make or model.
Any other tips welcome, thank you
Thank you

Salter do a ninja style blender that's good for smoothies. I had one for a couple of years and was happy with it. You can't do hot foods in it though . It was about forty quid. Do not get a Magimix jug blender. I have one of these and it is both noisy and ineffectual

thank you @Kingsleadhat will take a look. It's useful to know which ones to avoid too!

I must say we love our nutribullet. I was resistant but dh persuaded me.

We mostly use for smoothies and dd does a mean iced coffee. I have also used it for stuff like batter, blending fruit etc.

It gets used most days.

thanks @iamthattree . I was wondering about a nutribullet, was wondering whether it was worth the extra money. Don't mind paying if it is, but i don't know how much you are paying for the name vs function / quality?

If you search on Amazon for 'Breville blender', there's an Amazon choice one that comes up that we have, I'd definitely recommend it.

Only £23, ours came with 2 bottles and lids, and it's perfect for smoothies Smile

We had the Breville before actually and it was great - we inherited it when a relative died in that way where you think it's rude to say no and ended up using it til the motor burned out! So agree excellent for the price

We have a big Phillips blender now, which was about £100 two years ago, but it's still going strong. Before that we had a series of cheap ones which weren't really powerful enough. So I think it's worth spending a reasonable amount.

Great thank you, I'll take a look at all suggested

I like my old Breville, you can unscrew the bottom and it’s easier to clean
