What random changes have you picked up on recently...

I was looking at new cars recently and I realised they were mostly black, silver, blue or white with the occasional red one thrown in. I was born in the 80s and I remember cars of the 90s and 00s coming in an array of different colours and styles. Now they all just look like big futuristic monstrous things in the same 4 colours.

Have you noticed anything else recently that seems to have changed?

The smell of weed is everywhere

People are totally captured by the car industry. Convincing themselves that a huge SUV is essential if you live anywhere other than central London.

Cycles!! When I was a kid there were different colours available. Thinking back dbro and I had a choice of about 6 colours. we had boring shopper style bikes
Chopper bikes had colours to choose from.

Now it's rare to get them in more than one choice.

More adults wearing braces on their teeth
Vegan foods are increasing being sold as ‘plant based’ not ‘vegan’
Teachers no longer marking in red pen

Variety in teen clothing. They all seem more uniform in what they wear.

People out and about or in pubs, restaurants etc... looking like they've just got out of bed.

Pyjamas at school gates.

Less manners.

Everything being packed, restaurants, shops etc. you used to be able to move around.

No opportunity to see the doctor or dentist. Ring up the second it opens or die waiting.

More expensive cars because they’re all on tick. Hardly any shit old bangers as why save up for something to own it when you can spend £150 a month.

Far, far more dogs.

The gutters are full of weeds and litter.

People on average are larger than when I was a child in the 60s.

DD is looking to get a 'new' car as her little Fiat isn't big enough. But to get anything manufactured after 2019 all she can find is an SUV, or a few quirky small cars. She doesn't particularly want an SUV, but it looks as if she's going to have to get one.

I agree with everyone talking about cars right now.

Also I've noticed how confident teenagers seem to be nowdays in the workplace .I work with some late teens/early 20s and they seem to have plenty of initiative and get stuck in. None of the lack of self confidence or being nervous like we used to be in the 2000s.
