Hi
can anyone recommend a solicitor for a health and welfare deputyship?
Young person in question is eighteen with severe learning disabilities and autism in last year of sixth form at special needs school and lacks capacity in making decisions.
No conflicts with the local authority (yet ) and the young person still lives at home with their parents, though one day they will likely move to SEN college and supported living.
Am I correct in thinking that The Court of Protection won't always grant a Welfare Deputyship if there is no dispute and they are seldom granted?
Parents's want to be able to have a say in ongoing decisions, such as where young person lives, they are horrified to learn that the LA/COP can make decisions for their young person under the guise of best interests.
If you have a Health and Welfare Deputyship for a young person was it easy to get and what was the timescale?
TIA
