I am planning a weekend with my elderly mother and looking for some recommendations.

Circular walks no more than 2 -3 miles. Wildlife. Quaint villages.

Craft / antique / quirky shops. She loves charity shops as well.

Pubs / cafes for lunch with good vegetarian options.

So far I'm thinking Alresford. Prefer not to drive too far.

Please share your recommendations Smile

In Micheldever woods we did something like this route with my 88yo grandmother this spring, she managed fine although it was quite muddy in places: https://www.alltrails.com/en-gb/trail/england/hampshire/micheldever-woods

Are the Micheldever trails signposted?

Yes they’re all signposted, and there’s a good car park, SO24 PTZ for the sat nav

Mottisfont is stunning and not too big.

Stockbridge nice for a stroll too. A handful of cafes, nice (expensive) shops and a walk down to the March and river.

Would second the water gardens just up the road at Longstock (with Longstock nursery and cafe just up the road for before/after).

Alresford is lovely to potter about. You could take a trip on the Watercress line if you wanted to subtly sneak in something less energetic..

Gilbert White's house in Selborne is lovely, gardens and history rolled in one.
