Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just brewing a pot of tea, sitting in my kitchen spot with the window flung wide open. No-one's up yet apart from me so it's lovely & quiet. I expect the girls will be up soon-ish though - both had a fairly early night (for a Friday) and went to bed when I got in from an evening out with friends.

Todays plan is to have a steady moochy kind of day. There's uniform washing to do, some pots to wash, and downstairs could do with a clean and then sweeping/mopping. I'll get the girls to chip in when we're all eventually awake.

I plan to spend the rest of the day painting my next set of display props, and maybe some crochet. I'm in the middle of winging another creation for dd2 that's about 2/3 finished so would like to get it done over the weekend. I might upload a few more things onto Vinted, too then resist buying anything on there.

Dd1 will have some college work to be done so I'll remind her to get on with that at some point, and I'm reasonably sure dd2 will have at least maths and English too, but she tends to sit with me while she does hers.

No idea what's for tea just yet - something easy I think. I've been running down the freezer & think we're about ready for a shop this coming week.

Oh my goodness how did I forget the rugby 😅 okay well slight change of plan, rugby will be on this evening then… altho I am not quite sure I’m ready for the pain! Bring back England rugbys glory days.

I had major surgery yesterday. At one point I was to be kept in hospital but they let me home. Am resting in bed and yelping every so often in pain. Think the nurses are visiting today .

It’s such a nice day and I wish I could be up and about.

Good morning @lucysmam , it’s very peaceful here too. I’ve been awake since 2a.m, I hate this weather 😡
DH took dog out for a walk at 7, I have emptied the dishwasher, tidied the kitchen, put away the washing from yesterday, sorted out the fridge and eventually worked out how my new Nespresso machine works (instructions weren’t helpful!). I’ve ordered compostable pods.
DH and the dog are snoozing, I’ve just eaten two crumpets <waves 👍@Silkiebunny >, one with lemon curd the other with marmite and now I’m browsing on here 😊
I unsuccessfully started crocheting a throw yesterday, pulled it out three times and gave up. I was trying block stitch but despite going down to a 3.5mm hook it was still too loose (dk yarn) so not sure what stitch to do now !
Trsco delivery later, lots of nibbles and some ice cream too 😋

@NonMiDispiace I didn't get to sleep until somewhere after 4am 🙄 It's just so still, and upstairs is roasting.

@ToughFuss you never know, your ds might still think you're cool when he's older 🤔 My girls do think I'm embarrassing the majority of the time and eye roll me often 🤣. Seriously though, they're my biggest cheerleaders at the mo & we still do all sorts together even though they're teens.

We have been to swimming lesson and am now sat outside tap for dd2 . DD1 is off to a water park with her friends this afternoon so might take Dd2 to the splash park although I imagine it will be very busy !

Having a cup,of tea and waiting for the shopping to arrive. I will be doing nothing after that as it's far too hot. Just brining in the washing left out overnight has made me sweat. It's 70% humidity in my living room but if I put the dehumidifier on the humidity will go down but the temp will probably go up

Daughter went out at the crack of dawn to ride her horse before it got too hot, so just me and the dog sweltering here. Having a lazy morning, but planning to take dog, picnic and book to a shady riverside spot for a walk / swim soon.

So far be sat in front of fan, had breakfast and a coffee, read news, MNed and chatted to ds. Also sorted some washing out.

Need to head into town at some point to return some stuff to next and want to pick up some fizzy drink from Tesco.

May lay in the garden listening to podcasts later on.

BBQ tomorrow.

Full week of sports training next week and away for the weekend so doing as little as humanly possible this one!

Good morning @lucysmam! Been up a while to sort most of the animals before we go out for the day to the beach for fish and chips and ice cream and hopefully a bit of a breeze! It's so ridiculously hot here, would like it to cool down now.
My not so little kittens are 8 weeks old today so when we get back they will need worming and should start thinking about looking for new slaves for them.... can't deny I want to keep them all. This evening will be making my sloe gin and then feet up with Casualty and some fudge I hope to get while we're out!

It's 10.45am and I'm still not dressed! Currently sitting down in the lounge with 2 fans over me and just enjoyed a toasted scone and a cuppa. Dh fishing, ds at work so house to myself. Washing out but that's it !.
Toilet needs cleaning but.... just too hot to motivate myself.
Right, shower and start my day. Have a good day everyone☀️

Coffee while everyone still sleeping. Sorted the chickens and the rabbits and walked the dogs. Fed the donkeys and gave them a groom.

Husband teaching bridge all day so me and the teen are home hiding inside from the heat. Saying that I need to jet wash the car as it's covered in sand.

Apart from putting some washing on the line and a quick tidy up, I plan to read a book and catch up on a Netflix series I'm watching.

Well, my peace has been broken. Dd2 is up and talking Adele at me for the last half hour ish 🤣 It's like the floodgates have opened since I realised last week that she's actually quite the fan! It's like listening to dd1 talk about Taylor Swift, she seems to know everything about the woman!

Morning! Quite a chilled day today. Planning on spending some time reading in the garden, then going to see grandparents later this evening. Will do big shop on the way home (8pm in the supermarket is definitely the time to go!)

There's a big music festival going on tonight near where I live, and we can hear it clearly from our garden, so I'll sit out and enjoy that when I get home.

We started at Vounaki on the mainland and have visited a fair few islands over the last week- but of a blur but my favourites harbours were Abelike and Little Vathi. On our way back to Vounaki in a few hours then flying home tomorrow🥲.

Up early to do a few work visits then went to Tesco. Had a croissant and iced tea for breakfast now the cat is sleeping on my lap which is lovely but so hot!

DH off out in a while, I need to wrap two Vinted parcels to be dropped at the shop on the way. Cod and chorizo bake for tea.

We have been having a slow easy morning because this afternoon it is ds1 birthday party. 12 9/10 year old boys at a football party. I was worried it was going to rain and it did not even occur to me that his party might be during a heatwave. Have told the parents to make sure suncream is applied, sun hats work and the party place will be bringing them in for extra breaks and drinks so I really hope everyone still enjoys it. Ds1 has been looking forward to it for ages and it's his first party.

She was fine on the journey @lucysmam, I did have one unfortunate event when she used the litter tray while I was driving and the dog ‘kindly’ cleaned it for me, unfortunately the dog wws sick about ten minutes later. So that was an enjoyable experience, but apart from that it went smoothly and she wasn’t too angry with me.

Well, I'm in mourning after a thorough pasting was given to the All Blacks last night, lol.

DH and DD2 are attending Leeds university open day.

DD1 is thoroughly immersed in orientation for year 2 in London.

I am cleaning up little pockets of cat puke, clearing out the shit tip room, and generally just puddling as I swelter.

Tea for tonight is Charlie Bigham's paella. And a nice chilled sav' blanc.

Walked the dog, local place has open car meet and DH is petrol head. Had coffee there. Just planted a blueberry bush, it’s only been in a pot for 3 years🤦‍♀️

Currently trying to cool off. DH is cutting the grass.

I've had a horrible 2 weeks. Me and DD1 struck down with covid and massive amounts of work stress.

Today DH slightly hungover due to being out with a pal and watching the football last night, he's currently snoozing.

I got up and made everyone banana pancakes for breakfast. Have put a white wash out on the line and waiting for an empty hot wash to finish as machine needed a wee clean.

DD1 gone off to the beach with her BF.

DD2 really wants to go the beach but I'm just knackered so we've decided we'll do something tomorrow. Most likely an exhibition we want to see and lunch out.

Pizza for tea tonight, so will need to get dough made.

Intend to do as little as possible today and stop feeling guilty for not making the best of the sunshine as sometimes you just can't do everything and I really need to recharge.
