How often do you buy a new one? I've just realised I've had mine for around 6 months 😳

When the bristles are splayed out.
Probably between 3 and 5 months.

Meadowflower2023 · 08/09/2023 20:34

Same as @CatsOnTheChair

I have an electric one too but it strangely makes my eyes vibrate or maybe it's my vision that vibrates but either way I don't like it.

Every 3 months, I’m a hard brusher and I like the extra firm brushes so as soon as they go soft, I change.

This reminds me of during the war, when there were shortages of everything, my mother boiled our toothbrushes to sterilise them. Unfortunately all the bristles fell out.

Ballgateblazer · 08/09/2023 20:49

Every 3 months, I have a calendar reminder!

givemeasunnyday · 08/09/2023 20:50

Every three months - at the beginning of each new season.

teraculum29 · 08/09/2023 20:52

Recently when I was at the dentist, I asked that question.
The dentist said approx. every 3months or if bristle are splayed out even if toothbrush is 1week old.

Plus the softer the better, as it's better for gums.

Tilllly · 08/09/2023 20:54

I use electric and a manual toothbrush, and I replace my manual toothbrush every month

The bristles are not usually splayed out by then, but I think they're probably really filled with bacteria

greenspaces4peace · 08/09/2023 21:01

we buy them in bulk at costco and dh changes them out every month.

Lol same. I actually hate the feel of new toothbrushes. My teeth seem to be fine though - late 30s and not a single filling.

elQuintoConyo · 08/09/2023 21:06

Monthly, the bristles just bend so quickly. I use hard toothbrushes. 48, not a single filling.

Happycow · 08/09/2023 21:27

Same as @catsonthechair - probably every 3 months-ish (i have a habit of biting the brush if i brush too hard 😬) . Certainly no calendar reminder, but once the brustles are gone thats it - need a new brush straight away!

CantThinkOfANewUsernameAgain · 08/09/2023 21:28

Every 2 months maybe 3 max.

Balloonhearts · 08/09/2023 21:31

When the bristles tell me to. I buy ones with blue bristles that turn white when they need changing.

SkaneTos · 08/09/2023 21:35

I brush hard (too hard, the dental hygienists keep telling me...) so I change my toothbrush every other month, at least.
