Which is your favourite Dremel?

I love my Dremels! I've got two of them, my trusty old 300, and a newer 4000. I got the 4000 because the 300 stopped working, but later I was able to fix it by replacing the speed control & field coils. Although the 4000 is bigger & more powerful, with a greater speed range, my favourite is my 300, as it looks better (IMO) and fits better in my hand. The more useful accessory, I think, is the Multi-chuck, which is far more versatile than the various sized collets.

What about you guys, which is your favourite Dremel drill or accessory?

I don't have one but I would be interested to know what you use yours for.

@Sprig1 All sorts of things! I use the polishing wheels for polishing collectable coins, which it does more quickly than polishing by hand. Drilling holes, from about 1mm to 3.2mm, sanding, cutting metal, grinding, sharpening knives & scissors, cutting ceramics etc. You can get loads of attachments & accessories for it.

We use ours to sand down our dog’s nails as he doesn’t like nail cutters 🙈

I need something to cut off some trim from a uPVC window. Do you think it could do that?

I don't recommend it's use for trimming laminate floor.
Who would have thought it would set it on fire🤣

@Sprig1 So do you want to cut a length from a long strip? Do you need it to have a 45° mitre? You might want to use the SC476 SpeedClic plastic cutting disc... https://www.dremel.com/gb/en/p/dremel-ez-speedclic-plastic-cutting-wheels-2615s476jb

That might be just the thing, thanks.

I have a cordless Dremel with lots of attachments, but I use a cheap tool instead usually.
My most used attachments are sanding ones to smooth off cut wood before doing artwork, or drilling resin jewellery

Tzimi · 09/09/2023 21:47

@Sprig1 Hope it works!

@Fizzadora No, for cutting laminate, you're probably better off using a fine saw.
