Why Am I In The Laundry Room?

It was 2 a.m., and there I was, standing in the laundry room, wondering why on Earth I’d ventured there. The baby was asleep; I should've been too. Turns out, I wanted to put a pacifier in the sanitizer but ended up with a laundry basket instead. The mysteries of the mom brain! Has anyone else found themselves in a random room, questioning life choices?

It’s almost like our brains are too full of baby stuff that there’s no room for normal functioning anymore :D
I keep reminding myself it'll get better.

You have a laundry room, sleep deprived or not, you are living the dream.

You are right :) Feeling grateful every day.
But if trading the laundry room meant I could finally remember where I left my keys, I would do it in a heartbeat

Sorry I feel like I made you feel guilty for having a laundry room, I really didn’t mean it that way.
I don’t have an answer for baby brain, it’s a fairly distant memory for me, but can assure you it passes

If I had a laundry room I would go there often just to enjoy the fact that I had a laundry room.

Alas, I do not even have a tumble drier 😥

No need to apologize, I didn't found it offensive. Just friendly talk :)

Relieved to hear that it passes cause I have fear about such stuff due to my father. He has Alzheimer's disease and we all live together for a while. The bizarre thing is he looks better since the baby, I guess my boy brought joy to us all!

Just spotted your reply. I have a similar situation with my dad so I recognise that. Although right now it’s making me think about balancing planning for my future with living for now a bit more. I.e living a bit more.
Babies do wonderful things for frail people don’t they. You will look back on your baby’s gift to his granddad with so much happiness in a few years even though it feels bittersweet right now. I hope you are looking after yourself as well as other people OP.
