Butlins hints and tips

We've booked a late deal to Butlins in a couple of weeks. Never been before, but looking forward to it!

Does anyone have any hints and tips please? For example, I can't see a check in time and I understand you can't park at the accommodation so how does that all work? Can you hire high chairs?

We have a 2.5 yo, are staying in an an apartment and we're going to Bognor Regis.

Thanks!

We went to Butlin’s Bognor in the summer and had a great week so don’t listen to all the negatives! Check in time is usually about 3pm but you can normally arrive on site around 12. There are a couple of different entrances which should be listed on your check in details, they will usually give you some paperwork etc and then you can park up in one of the car parks. There isn’t parking by the accommodation unless you’re in the hotels so it’s a matter of loading up a luggage trolley.
I have stayed in the apartments before and have had both good and not so good experiences, just be prepared that some of them need a bit of an upgrade but if it’s just for a base you’ll be fine.
I believe you can hire high chairs etc so just ask when you check in. If you haven’t already, download the Butlin’s app because all the entertainment etc is listed on there. Inside the tent there are free rides that are great for the little ones and a soft play but that can get a bit manic. You have the outside fairground too but probably not much your little one can do at that age.
You will read a lot of negative reviews but we’ve always had a great time there, it is what you make of it 😀 have a fab time

Butlins will be really good for that age!
You park your car and get a trolly for your luggage and wheel it over to your apartment. I always try and make sure everything I pack will fit on one trolly. How are you doing food? Have you bought a package? I've never bought a package and take food for breakfast and lunch and eat dinner out. Food options in the restaurants for the kids will be the same across all the restaurants and are quite limited, so I usually accept before I leave that the kids aren't going to eat a vegetable for a few days. Book up some activities before you go. The shows are generally good. Have fun!

We always take our own food or eat out. There’s a great Turkish restaurant about 10 minutes walk into town. The food onsite is very poor quality. The on-site shop is also very expensive so make sure you remember washing up liquid, etc. I’m going

It's already booked. Not a kind or helpful response.

Thanks for the helpful tips!

We're more than willing to throw ourselves into it and go with the flow. Will definitely be using the apartment as a base and not bothered if it's a bit tired.

We haven't booked a food package. Thinking the same as pps - will probably do breakfast in the apartment and maybe a bit of a packed lunch. We would like to explore a bit off site, so the Turkish recommendation is helpful! How about beaches?

I'll download the app too.

I didn't realise there'll be luggage trollies there, so that's helpful too.

Thanks!
