Suggestions for soft foods…..

That aren’t soup, mashed potato, yoghurt….

DS has to have some teeth out soon (feel obliged to add it’s because of the way they’ve grown through, not decay!) He doesn’t like most of the traditional soft foods. I think ice cream might be uncomfortable? At the moment the only thing I’ve thought of is egg mayonnaise! Any other suggestions?

Risotto

Mummy08m · 07/09/2023 19:09

Chilli con carne - made very soft and wet - with extra watery rice

Rice pudding

Scrambled egg

Cheese soufflé (not as hard to make as it looks)

Should have added he’s a mega fussy eater - sorry!! So sadly he won’t eat any of those suggestions. It needs to be really plain simple stuff. Also I don’t think things like risotto would be recommended as the bits might get stuck in the gaps?

Would he have smoothies or fruity milkshakes?

Porridge or Weetabix that has gone soft in the milk.

Scrambled eggs. Even an omelette (with cheese if he likes it).

Tuna mayo would be soft too.

Pasta dishes don't need much chewing and you can be careful of bits - blitzed up tomato/veg, cheese sauce, tuna could go in either if he liked it.

Weetabix. Risotto as above

Stewed fruit.
Apple sauce.
Melted chocolate.
Stew.
Milkshakes or smoothies.
Mild curry.
Wraps.
Mushy cereal or porridge.
Slightly overcooked pasta to make it softer.
Bolognaise.
Mushed banana.

How about a cheesy mash, put through a ricer? You could pop mashed sausage in as he improves.

dementedpixie · 07/09/2023 20:14

Can't go wrong with noodles or pasta cooked until its really soft

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 07/09/2023 20:54

Amazing, thanks! I should have thought of some of these.

he loves noodles, porridge, tuna, ravioli and fish. Hopefully after a few days he’ll be able to move on to slightly harder things!
