Pet Cams, not Alexa/Ring and no treats

Please could I have recommendations for a Pet Cam that is easy to set up and use and not expensive? I do not want it to dispense treats, or open the door to let the pet out or anything like that.

Neither do I want it compatible with Alexa/Ring or any other such intrusions.

Just an easy to use indoor camera that I can check on my phone. Not an actual app.

We've got two Tapo cameras from Amazon, about £25 .

You do need an App though to view them

@Oldraver thank you, I was looking at those I think, not sure if they would cover the room, do you need them both in one room?

Depending on where they are they could cover the room, depends on its size. You can move them about ( via app) to get best view, so long as the cat doesn't move it. Current state of play in the bedroom. This is unusual though

This is dining room, specifically for the catflap. It's a bit messy

Thank you, the layout of your dining room is similar to mine, which where I need the camera 😺

Does this one work on batteries or does it need to be plugged in?

PensionPuzzle · 04/01/2024 20:41

We use Blink for our child/pet cams. It is an Amazon product but it's standalone with its own app. Easy to use and often on offer!

Cloud44 · 04/01/2024 20:42

Thank you @PensionPuzzle is it battery operated? Don’t suppose you have a link?

StoorieHoose · 04/01/2024 20:44

If you have an old phone download AlfredCamera. It is free and you can view remotely from your current phone or PC.

It's not linked to Amazon in anyway. It stores recordings for 30 days and you can set up notifications

Realise you didn't want an app but this uses old kit you may already have to save you buying a camera

We use eufy. For outdoors and indoors. There is a 'hub' box. Most of ours are battery. The one which goes in the kitchen is plugged in - we only use it when we aren't there to see the cats. They are triggered by pets or humans.

PensionPuzzle · 04/01/2024 22:22

We use the mini plug in Blink ones indoors but the outdoor ones I'm almost certain run on d cell batteries. I can't see why you couldn't use an outdoors one indoors?

I tried to put the link but it was huuuge, if you go on the Argos website and search for Blink they have quite a range, maybe not the best price but a good place to have a look at the options.

Thank you @PensionPuzzle
