What’s a good time of day for an 8-year-old party?

On a weekend. Taking into consideration that lots of kids have various clubs etc.

So what would be your easiest time of day for your child to go to a birthday party?

10-12? 12-2? 2-3? etc etc

For us, it’d be after 3, or Dc would miss a club (which isn’t the end of the world!). But I don’t know if I’m alone in that! I’ve heard others say it’s their nightmare time because it means they can’t do much else beforehand.

(Trying to decide what time to have a party!!)

4-6 at a weekend

Ones around us often start at 3. Afternoon probably best.

4-6.

2-4! Waiting til 4pm for a kids party is draining

I liked the later afternoon ones too. It allowed for things like clubs, or handover if they split weekends between parents. Plus I like a lie in and a lazy start on a weekend.

We did 3-6 for my eight year old’s birthday party recently. Worked very well.

3-5 or 4-6 on a Saturday but not a Sunday! Assuming you’re feeding them tea too. 12-2 messes up the whole day and the majority of clubs are mornings at weekend.

4 is always a good time I think

2-4 for me . Clubs in morning on a Saturday. Lay in Sunday's. Have lunch then kids are entertained by the party. Then home to cook tea

This is very helpful! Everyone voted for the afternoon so far!

I always liked the 10 to 12 if it was a nice day weather wise.We were up and about and could get on with doing things we wanted to do in the afternoon.
I hated the afternoon ones. It was waiting around abd a wasted day for the rest of the family.

Dont think ds or any of his class had any "parties" from 8 onwards (until they got their 16th/18ths). They would do a smaller groups of friends and an activity, so the activity, distance to drive to etc would usually determine the time.

My DS goes to lots of 2-5 Sunday parties. I love those!
