Should I cancel my doctor's appointment or still go?

I've been having IBS-like symptoms for around a year. I had a colonoscopy, which came back completely normal and I was told it was gastroenteritis.

However, I've still been having stomach issues with intense stomach cramps and diarrhoea. I booked a GP appointment a few weeks ago which is next week. However, in the weeks leading up to the appointment I decided to keep a food diary and see if I could find any triggers, and I noticed it coincides with gluten. I've cut gluten out the last few days and feel a lot better, and I think I've found my trigger.

I'm not sure whether to now cancel my GP's appointment as there's nothing further they can do. I have already had a coeliac blood test which was negative. Do you think I should cancel or still go? I don't want to waste their time.

I’d cancel if you’ve sorted it yourself.

I'd keep the appointment for a few days, to be sure, then cancel the day before if you're still feeling ok. Hope you continue to feel better.

I would go to get it noted on your records and to ask for any other advice about gluten.
They might recommend coeliac testing too.

Thank you all, I think I'll cancel it a couple of days before if I'm still feeling ok

How long ago was the Coeliac test? And were you eating lots of gluten at the time?

It was around 9 months ago, and yep I was eaten gluten during most meals

Ah. Wondered if it was long before this lot of symptoms.
A coeliac test isn't a one time test. You can develop coeliac disease at any age, if you have the gene, and something triggers you to switch the gene on.

Glad you have found the trigger, hope you continue to make a good recovery..
