I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my spot in the kitchen, as always. The window's open & the only sounds I can hear are the fridge humming away to itself & a neighbours dc playing. I might head outside to finish my brew since it's nice out.

Today we're off to town to pick up my new glasses, and nip into Primark for a jumper dd1 spotted last Saturday. Pretty sure dd2 will find something she likes the look of, and we'll end up at the greengrocer for some fruit too.

Hopefully we'll not be out too long & I can come home to chill. My legs feel like I ran a marathon yesterday! If it's not late when we get in, I want to finish crocheting some more Colour Monster props for work, ready for stuffing tomorrow, then I can drop them in on Monday's training day.

Dd1 has a bit of college work to finish off so she'll probably do some more of that when we get in, while facetime-ing her American friend. And dd2 persuaded me to buy her yet another book yesterday, so I think she'll probably read that (probably the whole thing in tbh!).

Dd1 is meant to be cooking, but forgot to defrost chicken, so we'll see 🤔.

Tonight will be chill in front of the tv for me, maybe a bit of something crafty, maybe my book (crafty always wins lately!), then an early ish night. I'm meant to be at a friend's wedding do, but over-did it last Saturday & wrote off Sunday altogether so don't think I'm going to go.

What about all of you? 🙂

@Simonjt good luck with your travels! Hope all goes smoothly

lastminutewednesday · 02/09/2023 14:28

I've worked a few hours this morning. Now lying on the sun Lounger, eating left over pizza, soaking up the beginnings of the much hyped up heat wave we are meant to get this week. Dh is upstairs having a nap before we get ready to go to a friends party at 4. Bit hungover as we had alot of wine last night but think I could see my way to feeling better with an aperol spritz or something along those lines !

ShadyPaws · 02/09/2023 14:33

Done a 30 min spin class, then showered
Had a bagel and protein shake which was lovely, and I'm defrosting some sausages. Making cowboy pie topped with potato waffles tonight
Washing is on the go and the cat is snoozing by the machine

lucysmam · 02/09/2023 14:54

@Simonjt how exciting, hope all goes smoothly & the cat manages the journey well. Are you excited to be finally on your way?

Currently looking at the dog licking his penis. I have had better views.

JamSandle · 02/09/2023 15:24

Got some friends round but already hoping they'll cancel. They're already all late and just feels like a waste of time!

Want to bunker down with my partner instead.

MintJulia · 02/09/2023 15:28

So far- parkrun, drop ds at swimming, food shop, collect ds, hang out washing, mow lawn, make lunch.

This pm, gardening, curtain making , hoover ds bedroom& show him how to change a duvet cover(!). Then cook supper and probably collapse in a heap.

Tomorrow, more gardening, picking & bottling blackberries, scrumping greengages to make jam. 😀 And a karate class.

Just having a coffee in bed (we're on the other side of the Atlantic so its early here), husband is watching Premier League football in bed after giving the dog a long walk, and our DS is playing FIFA on his switch. We'll have breakfast in a minute, probably fruit and some of this croissant loaf bread that I found in Costco yesterday. Like a croissant but in slices that you can pop in the toaster.

Showers for everyone, then our son has a drumming lesson, while he's drumming we'll go to a home store nearby and pick up some bedding we need - our pillows are knackered and the dog has chewed the buttons off the bottom of the duvet cover. The joy of dogs!

Then back home to walk the dog, and after that we'll head to the mall to look for some drumsticks that our son needs, and probably have a late lunch somewhere like the Cheesecake Factory.

Back home, need to catch up on Celebrity Masterchef so we'll all watch that together, then snack, story time and bed for our son,. We'll finish the bottle of red we opened yesterday while finding something to watch. A pretty average Saturday!

I had a lazy morning feeding DS in bed while DD lay next to me watching her iPad. Managed to get a bit of washing done and made some flapjacks with DD, then had a fish finger sandwich for lunch. I dropped DH and DD off at the swimming pool a couple of hours ago but they bumped into some friends so they’re staying to do soft play as well- expecting a very knackered child when they do return! I should take advantage of the extra chunk of peace and quiet to do some washing up but I’m sat in the comfy arm chair with the baby napping on my chest and don’t want to move!

Neither of us felt like cooking tonight so we’re having oven pizzas and garlic bread for tea, then hopefully DH and I will get to watch an episode or two of Who is Erin Carter?

That's rubbish @OldTinHat 😢 I hope your df is doing ok with the chemo? And that you're feeling better soon 💐

Thanks @lucysmam I know you have experience of that journey 😔 Yep DF is doing really well, consultants are pleased with him, thanks. I've not seen him since March so I'm really 🤬 that covid now decides to say hello just days before I'm going to visit!

Outing, but I'm happy to have received texts saying 'hope you're obituaries soon' and that I'll 'lick covids arse' in no time. I have the best friends who really don't know how to text - or maybe they do?!!

Tarkan · 02/09/2023 16:54

I'm late to the thread but I spent the whole morning in bed. It's looking like I've got my third bout of Covid, I finally fell asleep at 6am and woke up at 1pm and I've just vegetated on the sofa since. DC are being wonderful and running around after me, making cups of tea and they even did a grocery shop for me today (they're both teens).

I've been sitting watching the football scores come in on TV since I couldn't go to our local match today.

lucysmam · 02/09/2023 16:56

@ShadyPaws what is cowboy pie topped with waffles (I get the waffles part, curious about the pie part!).

@OldTinHat yup, 2 weeks left to go here! Plain sailing so far with minor side effects. 🤞 that continues. Your friend's texts made me smile, mine would send similar!

Thanks @ShadyPaws I think we'll try that one night this week coming - will have to buy waffles first though!

Went to a carboot this morning
Then went to a cafe nearby for a coffee and tea cake
Spent this afternoon at a local apple pie fair
Now at home making some soup and will have it with sourdough for dinner (I'm not in a cooking mood tonight😂)

Excited and very nervous, I’m sure there will be lots of home sickness at times, the dreaded job search starts for me in a few weeks.

ShadyPaws · 02/09/2023 18:46

@lucysmam I recommend all of his recipes, none have failed on me!
