How long would you expect it to take? *Also posted in housekeeping*

Can I ask how long you would expect it to take to clean the below, on a 2 weekly basis -

• Large kitchen with Island/dining/living area
• Living Room (including hoovering large corner sofa, only removing scatter cushions to hoover seats, back and arms)
• Hall/Stairs/Landing/Side entrance
• 2 bedrooms (there are 4 but only have to clean 2)
• 3 bathrooms

Additional info -

I am the cleaner and have been cleaning this house for around 8 months.

I started working for a lady with a cleaning business (she has her own clients and wanted to branch out) she sourced the new clients after she took me on.

I do 3 hours every 2 weeks and I am stressing every time I go there. (Even when I'm not there, I am running over everything in my mind.)

The house is tidy, the kitchen cupboards are white gloss. Floor is wooden in the kitchen/dining/living area. Also a large rug. (I hoover and mop.)

The one bathroom has a bath with a shower over (with a glass screen) smaller tiles with lots of grout, chrome fittings in all bathrooms. (Including towel rails)

The other 2 have a showers, 1 with a long floor to ceiling fixed glass panel, long shower tray (wall to wall) with marble large tiles. The other shower has glass doors with more of a matt finish to the tiles.

Floors in bathrooms are hoovered and mopped.

The living room, bedrooms, hall, landing and stairs are carpet. (Hoover only.)

The side entrance is a hard floor which I hoover and mop.

I worry constantly when I am there and am running about and rushing the whole time. I don't feel good enough, although the client is happy with the work I would like to do a better job.

I am just unsure if I am not good enough or if too much is expected in the time.

I assumed 2-2.5 hours

I'd say 2 hours max

I have similar, apart from we have 4 bathrooms but only 1 bedroom is done.

My cleaner does 3 hours every 2 weeks and is mostly done 10/15 minutes early. It took her a while to get used to the house though.

It would take me 4-5 hours minimum but I'm not a cleaner and when I clean I do skirting boards and wash the doors etc..... as well. Bathrooms and kitchens can take a lot of time. I can spend all day doing my house and it's a 3 bed 2 bathroom house with a tiny kitchen.

I think the three hours sounds fine tbh. I’ve been a cleaner. If you are running around you sound a bit disorganised (sorry). Try and come up with a system that minimises movement between floors.
I prefer to start at the top of a house, take up my cleaner bucket which will have all the chemicals and cloths needed, spare bin liners for bathrooms etc. bag for rubbish, bag for dirty cloths. Is the cleaning of grout/ bathroom screens taking ages? E-glass polishing cloths are handy for finishing off glass, also those glossy cabinets. Good idea to spray grout/ pop toilet cleaner in and then clean bedrooms etc to give products a chance to do their jobs. Do not put too much product on though it won’t get any cleaner and takes time to clean off.

I’d clean my way down the house. Then hoover from top to bottom. Mopping is last, work out how long it takes and any spare time use it to do a deep cleaning job. Skirting boards, inside windows type stuff.
