Water bottle for reception that doesn't have a faffy way to close it?

DS is hopeless with properly closing bottles before putting them in his bag, he always forgets despite me constantly demonstrating and reminding him.

iON8 and Tinc bottles don't work for him because there's 2 steps to the close and seal process. He snaps the lid closed but forgets to close the little U-shape hooky thing and it leaks all over his bag.

I'm looking for something that only takes one step to seal.

Sistema Twist is a write off because unless you twist it really tight it just leaks. I'm eyeing up the Camelback Eddy, has anyone tried it? Any other ideas?

You can get bottle holders that strap onto the bag. Doesn't stop the leaking but at least means that you don't end up with soggy book bag contents. Lots of different versions but we use something like this. https://kidsbiz.co.uk/product/book-bag-bottle-mate/

They all have to unscrew in order to refill them, surely? The Sho ones have an alternative flip straw lid that can be purchased and are really easy to use. Mine lives in my bag and has never leaked.

Ion8 have been great. We e all got insulated ones and they keep iced water cold for hours even when it's been above 30 degrees outside. They do a non insulated one too and have lots of different designs. The insulated ones don't give water that horrible weird taste. No straw, just flip the cap and drink.

Please don't get the sho one or any other bottle that unscrews.
Sports caps all the way.
For all of Primary School.
So speaks a teacher. I can't dry the carpet and you don't want your children sitting in a puddle.

Was going to say this.

Also, bottles with an outer layer that contain glitter. That shit gets everywhere when they are dropped and break.

But they do that at a sink where a spill doesn't really matter. The majority of children don't refill their bottles during the school day anyway.

I’m tempted by the Ion8 ones (targeted ads!) but was looking at my sister’s ones and they CAN spill 😵‍💫 if the top is not done up properly/left open the water can just flow out. Surely most spills from young kids are because the bottle wasn’t closed properly, not because the bottle is faulty. Plus the closing seems complicated, so setting them up to fail? Don’t get it!

We use mini carabiner clips to hold bottles on the outside of book bags…and metal bottles as they get dented but don’t smash (although DS1 put one out of action by posting a pritt-stick into it…fitted so neatly it was impossible to get out and DS2 dropped his and it was run over so maybe I’ve just got impossible DC).
