Does anyone else find it hard shopping fir kids clothes.

Dd is 13 she's 5ft6 . She does not fit clothes for age 13. More like 14/15 or 15/16. Depending on the shop. Then I like to buy on line so you can't really tell until its arrived. I know the answer is to shop in store. Try on etc . But I hate going in shops. Plus half the time the sizes are not there .

I have not even managed to get her school trousers yet. Cant have slim fit, can't have skinny fit bla bla. Then can't get her size unless I go to a proper school shop.

Then my 2 boys are 123cm tall . When I look at sizes it Seems to say age 7 is 122cm Then age 8 is 128 cm but then some jeans/trousers I look at say age 8. But then says they are 138cm

I hate clothes shopping. There is no point to this thread I'm just moaning

Older children seem to fall into a void of sizing. Even if the size exists, it's probably not in stock.

They often grow long years before filling out too. Mine have always been lean and button-elasticated waistbands have always been yoinked in to the max to not fall off. Tracksuit bottoms are rarely small enough on the waist. When DS1 tried on a pair of standard school trousers last year, the size for his age were a sensible length, but he could hold the waist out 6" in front of him. We got "slim waist" pairs, but they're still cut like a sack of potatoes. They tend to wear sports leggings out of school as length doesn't matter, and they actually fit closely. Or shorts where you can buy them for 4 years younger.
