Drysoon from Lakeland or another heated airer? Which do you like?

Hi ... we're about to buy our first heated airer realising we really do need one this winter. 20% off at the mo so think we're about to take the plunge

Drysoon looks brilliant - any thoughts about what you do and don't like about it? And recommendations on what size to buy?

Or is there one you prefer?

Thanks!!

I got the largest DrySoon. It needs the cover too. I drape a lot of clothes over 2 or 3 rails hanging down. It fits more on that way than lying them flat across the rails, plus the warm air circulates better. You need a window open or a dehumidifier on to avoid damp.
My dryer is old and expensive to run, so I much prefer the airer.
Cons: takes up space, takes time, so no good if you have more than 2 loads of washing that need drying in a rush. Towels go a bit flat and crispy, but you can floof them up by hand.
Pros: cheaper than dryer, clothes smell fresher. Can also dry walking boots if you put them on an old towel. Can prove bread dough in it!

Handy for uncertain weather days, so if you hang out in morning but it’s going to rain in afternoon you can finish off the drying on the airer in a much shorter time than if they were straight from the washing machine.

I’ve read that they only really heat the bits of the clothes that touch the bar so can be a lot of faff.

I had a Dri Buddi which I sold a month after getting it. I’ve since bought a dehumidifier and use a normal airer and it’s much better.

I think they are totally overrated. Also use a dehumidifier

I have a Lakeland one and tbh probably wouldn’t replace it if something were to happen to it. Like someone else said, it just dries the bits of clothes in contact with the bars and the rest stays damp for a good while- I found the cover made little difference and most of the time I don’t have the time or energy to nurse my drying with adjustments and manoeuvring. However, I did have it set up in my wee office when WFH in the winter and it kept the room lovely and warm when the heating was off or on low, so that was a positive! Ultimately it does dry the clothes quicker than a standard airer a tenth of the price does, but it’s not a miracle solution.

If I had my time again I would go down the airer/dehumidifier route.

I have had my Lakeland heated airer for 18 years and I love it. It takes 2 loads of washing. I use hangers between the bars and round the outside and hang other things over the bars/lay flat. I chuck a big tablecloth over the top and close it with clothes pegs. It heats up inside and dries everything really fast. It cost me about £70 back then and I consider it money well spent. It warms the room up too.

I used to have a Drysoon but got rid as I didn't think it was worth it. Washing still takes ages to dry.

Got a dehumidifier instead which is much better.

Having said that, I didn't buy the cover. Maybe that makes a difference

I got this 'heated drying cabinet' last winter and it's flipping brilliant. I'm too lazy to iron so I didn't want the rack type as the reviews suggested it left creases, so I like this version where everything goes on hangers and dries all nice and straight. Got the pro version as it's taller so can hang two layers of adult size clothes - some reviews suggested the standard version (and also the Lakeland version of this as well) aren't actually tall enough for adult clothes to hang properly!
