Has anyone been to the Tattoo? Question!

We want to book for next year, however we are hoping to TTC from October……

If we fall immediately we would either have a tiny baby <6 weeks, or if we fell in November or December I’d be very heavily pregnant. Obviously it might take longer which would then be fine

If we do fall pregnant immediately and we have, at most, a 7 week old, is the idea of taking them along completely ridiculous? I have seen you can get baby soundproof headphones that completely block out all the noise but don’t know how reliable these are, or how loud the tattoo actually is.

Any thoughts appreciated thank you :)

I’d be as concerned about the weather! Freezing cold, windy and wet… but yes it’s loud and a long time sitting with a baby.

TenOhSeven · 28/08/2023 21:25

I've been. I wouldn't take a baby. Not just because of the noise but if you need to take them out for any reason it's not that easy to get in and out of the stands.

It’s loud, it’s scotland and it’s cold at night time. I wouldn’t want my tiny baby to be sitting out in unpredictable weather. We can have 4 seasons in one day at times.

And only one person can get pregnant, hope that helps.

RhannionKPSS · 28/08/2023 21:27

Definitely don’t take a baby; it’s cold, very loud, windy, uncomfortable seats, expensive & very unfair on anyone seating beside you, & unfair on the baby.

Timeandtune · 28/08/2023 21:28

Agree with everyone else to be honest. It will be cold , windy and possibly wet but the show will go on regardless. It’s also c crowded and a bit of a trek up to the castle.
Having said all that it’s a great show and a definite experience but not one for babies/ v small children.

RhymesWithTangerine · 28/08/2023 21:28

Lol Nooooooo for a newborn. You can’t move around. It is outdoors. It takes ages to leave and arrive. It’s loud.

It’s really the exact opposite of a good idea.

I wouldn't take a baby but if you get reasonably priced tickets (not the £200+ ones) you'd probably be able to sell them on easy enough, if you couldn't attend.

Thirdsummerofourdiscontent · 28/08/2023 21:30

I’ve been and sorry I wouldn’t take a baby.

Timeandtune · 28/08/2023 21:30

I suppose you could go if very pregnant but walk, steps, stairs and difficult to pop out to the loo. Sorry to be such a killjoy.

cheesetriangles · 28/08/2023 21:32

Thanks everyone. I thought as much! I have just listened to a video from this years and thought, nope!! Haha

It can get REALLY cold. I wouldn't take a small child/baby.

Thank you, I did think about the temperature as well as it’s so high up and dark obviously with it being at night, I bet you’d have to wrap up.

Wrap up in a plastic poncho and sit on one too to avoid a cold, wet, soggy arse 😂

It’s shite anyway, you won’t be missing much!
