What are the best daily disposable contact lenses on the market?

Especially if you have any hint of dry eyes? I haven't looked into contacts for quite a few years now and know new types do come out every so often, so just interested in any tips on good ones to maybe try?

Maybe talk to a contact lense optician rather than ask on a forum where people have experience of one or two lenses

Ponderin · 27/08/2023 22:55

Er, yes, I will be booking an appointment.

You do know this is a discussion forum for a whole range of topics? There is a real value in hearing people's experiences with different brands and types of lenses, should they choose to write a reply.

I have acuvue moist and find them really good. Wear them all day everyday with no issues. I get them from Boots opticians on a pay monthly scheme but i think you can order ad hoc online as well.

Daysoft.com. I buy the daysoft silk ones

Flopsythebunny · 27/08/2023 23:36

Daysoft Silk.
I've been wearing disposable contacts for 35 years and these are the most comfortable I've ever worn

Beetlebuggy · 27/08/2023 23:40

DD and DH, who both suffer slightly from dry eyes, use Acuvue Moist. Dd tried quite a few and the optician was adamant that if Acuvue Oasys (sp) didn't work then the Moist ones wouldn't. She insisted on trying them and they are fine.

I have worn Daysoft for years but recently found they irritated my eyes, no idea why. Now I'm wearing Specsavers and they're really comfortable.

When I wore dailys, my eyes would still be very dry by the time I got home from work (have tried LOTS of different ones over the years). But the comfiest I've found are actually Air Optix that you can wear continuously for up to 30 day. I never would have thought that they would be comfier than daily ones, but they really are for me. And no messing with solution either.

I've got dry eyes & wear Clariti daily contact lenses. I haven't had an issue with them at all.

notprincehamlet · 28/08/2023 00:05

Dailies Total1 - I've had LASIK which has left my eyes a bit dry and these are the only contacts I've had that I completely forget about when I'm wearing them.

Ponderin · 28/08/2023 00:13

Thank you all, I haven't heard of some of these so off to read up on them!

I remember a mate of mine was really impressed with the Daysoft though, had forgotten all about those.

Daysoft are the only contact lenses my eyes will tolerate

wonkymonkey · 28/08/2023 00:16

Another vote for Dailies Total 1. I wore lenses for 35 years and have tried everything! The difference with these is the high oxygen permeability so much safer for your eyes and means less dry eyes. I used to wear Acuvue Moist before these but they eventually irritated me and get dry. The oxygen permeability is really important, especially if you wear your lenses for a lot of hours per day. It prevents a lot of serious problems. Silicone hydrogel is the material to look out for to get the oxygen permeability.

I get on best with the Acuvue Oasys. Tried other brands, but always feel too dry and uncomfortable, so I end up going back to the oasis ones.

catnipevergreen · 28/08/2023 00:55

I use Acuvue moist - been wearing lenses for almost 30 years now and they're definitely the best I've tried

Rinkytinkpanther · 28/08/2023 01:18

Acuvue moist are the ones I use from Specsavers £35 a month. I've always found them comfortable to wear all day. I change to specs in the evening so I'm not wearing them too long. My eyes get dry but I think that's just post menopause. I'd like to get my eyes lasered but I'm too much of a wimp to go for it 😂

grosslyunfair · 28/08/2023 01:21

Also acuvue. Was on moist but moved to oasys. All day every day and no issues for me or opticians
