Loop or Flare Ear Plugs?

Has anyone tried both and can give honest feedback please? I keep seeing adverts for both and am happy to spend £20 on trying some, but not sure which.

Basically, my hearing can get very sensitive at times and background noises in the office, people chewing, the kids' devices etc all add up to me feeling stressed. I also live on a main road and the traffic getting heavier around 5am wakes me up.

Which would be better? Does anyone know?

Hmmm...now I'm wondering if Loop are gonna have any Black Friday sales on...

Yes, Loops actually do reduce the noise levels, I'm not sure about Flares.

I've got 3 different kinds of Loops 🙈.

I absolutely love my loop quiet ones. Wear to sleep, wear to chill out, wear in a noisy airplane.
Really good.

They are discounted on Amazon at the moment

So, I've got:
Loop Quiets: Use them at my work desk sometimes. Fine, but not comparable to noise cancelling earphones.
Loop Engages: Reduce some noise.
Loop Experiences: Reduce quite a lot of noise at concerts etc.

Overall, I quite like my Loops. They look good and come in nice colours (sometimes), and I think they work pretty well. I do find them relatively expensive though.

*Hope I got the names right.

My daughter has OCD and misophonia (I have misophonia too) and her Loop earplugs got her through her A levels. She wouldn't be without them now

Im extremely noise sensitive and have the loop ones. They don’t block everything out but do dull excessive noise. I’ve not been blown away by them. I thought they’d be better.

Loops have a 25,% off deal you can sign up for for black Friday. My autistic ds wears them at school. If you don't like them they'll refund you

This thread is really useful, thanks everyone. My DD really struggles with background noises - in particular her brother tapping away on his computer when she is trying to watch TV - and it leads to daily battles. Is there any kind of Loop (or other earplugs) that can block out the background tapping on the other side of the room, while still allowing her to hear the TV? I’m rather confused by it all. Thanks!

LuckOfTheDrawer · 17/12/2024 20:00

The order of blocking out most noice to blocking out least is:

Quiet

Experience

Engage

AhNowIGetIt · 18/12/2024 04:56

Thanks @LuckOfTheDrawer . Am I right in thinking then that they are really just about general noise reduction and it just depends to what degree you want to block out noise? So they aren’t clever enough to somehow filter out annoying background noises while still allowing you to hear the nearer things you want to hear (such as the TV) perfectly clearly? Thanks

LuckOfTheDrawer · 18/12/2024 08:02

Yes, I think you're right really - they're well designed and well marketed earplugs that block out a certain amount of noise, and a lot of people seem to really like them.

LuckOfTheDrawer · 18/12/2024 08:05

I just re-read this thread to see what I said at different times - DS no longer wears Flares (but did appreciate them at school for a while), and just wears Loop Experiences if we're at a gig or similar.
