Do you ever feel that you hate it and would love to move but the grass is not always greener, and it will be a lot of hassle, and you are kind of doing ok and so you carry on, for years?

Totally 100% yes! Exactly how I feel! I hate it and hate my boss, but the money is ok, the commute is easy, I know what I’m doing. Blah blah.

Pretty much, they made me redundant in the end which was a blessing. I look back with regret at the time I wasted there though.

It was more Boiling Frog Syndrome for me. Kept saying to myself, if it doesn’t get better by my birthday I’ll leave, if it doesn’t get better by Xmas I’ll leave, etc, in the end the decision was made for me by being made redundant otherwise I’d still be there dying slowly inside.

Yes. This happened and is still happening to me.

Worked for 12 years in a job that slowly destroyed my mental health. So much so, that I still am affected by some of the things said/done to me. But carried on because i needed the money and didn't have the energy/confidence to try and get a new job.

Last year I got the guts to apply for somewhere else and was offered the job, so finally got to leave the awful place.

Unfortunately though, it turned out that the grass isn't always greener on the other side and I am back to crying at night, having panic attacks, breaking down in the loos at lunchtime.

I'm struggling so badly.

I worked in a place like this. People stayed for 30+ years under terrible conditions because “at least it’s stable” or “much worse in other places” even though they had never had any other job and had started there straight from school 🤣

Minimum wage, no benefits, appalling holiday pay, sexist bosses, no sick pay, working all Christmas, do as the bosses say on a whim even if it’s not your job, if you became disabled well, better look for a new job now you can’t perform etc - it was like working in 1975.

I left but I know good people who stayed. It’s bizarre to me, sorry.

OK, I am getting the fudge out. By Christmas.
