Can you help me write an email asking for interview feedback?

Had a job interview which I thought went well, they kept me online for the whole of the scheduled time. They said second round would be decided the week of 21st August and I'd hear back at the beginning of the week.

Haven't heard anything positive so assume I've been rejected again, although not had a rejection and the status on my account on their career website is that they are considering applications.

How can I formulate an email to a) ask if they've decided yet b) ask for feedback if I'm not selected. They didn't seem organised when sorting the original interview- called me at 1745 on the Monday for a 9 am on Wednesday, so I'm hoping although I know I won't have got it.

Good morning blah blah

Thank you for taking the time to interview me last week. It was a pleasure to meet you and hear more about the role and your company. I’d love the opportunity to discuss the outcome. Feedback would be useful if I was unsuccessful. Happy to chat over email or I’m available to speak on the phone xxxx.

Thanks again, I look forward to hearing from you.
Rejected.

As a starter for ten? Hoping someone might come along to make it better / offer a better suggestion.

Fingers crossed you did get it and they’re just disorganised!

Personally, I would not contact them to ask if they have made a decision or put in an email that you assume your application was unsuccessful.

If second round would be decided week of the 21st, that's this week. They are still perfectly on time. They said they'd let you know the beginning of this week, but that's probably quite optimistic coming from someone on the panel who doesn't have to do all the graft. It's Wednesday! I'd assume any time this week is perfectly acceptable.

The cogs for these things take a long time to turn. Even if the panel made a decision, it's dependent on whoever is in HR not being on leave or having a childcare emergency with a vomiting child or not being overloaded with a million other tasks to do, to actually contact people. Never mind the scheduling involved in setting up 2nd interviews. Lots of people on leave now and in the next few weeks, so it's probably an administrative nightmare for someone to organise when no one is around to give their availability.

I don't think an email pointing out that you are impatient is going to help you at all as a candidate. Sit on your hands. Wait it out. It certainly would put me off hiring someone if they sent me an email like that. Once you hear back about their decision, then follow up for feedback if unsuccessful.
